Looks like they're launching the smaller pyro from the roofs of Ministry & Monsters.

Also, lighting package will be great with each portal having movable spotlights

Employee “rehearsals” next week (24-28th) where they are required to spend their 8 hour shift acting as guests following a “script” including ride evacuations, dining, shopping, etc.. Certain TMs from the North Campus can sign up to do it, with the usual stipulations of no photos, videos, etc.

They also noted that this is not TM previews which will be announced soon.

They actually stipulate “no improvising scenarios” so they all have to stick to the pre determined guest complaints/issues. No word if there are some who would be required to ride certain rides or be able to opt out— not everyone wants to ride all things.

I wonder how they handle mock service for “verbally abusive Karen” and who gets that role.

Does part of the script require said guest to find a creative way to get a ticket. ;) :lmao:

Can anyone guess as to where those fireworks are being launched from, in terms of viewing area? Didn’t expect them to have symmetrical lower level pyro on either side of something… giving castle pyro vibes.

How is this framed from within the park?

Big ones will show above the hotel (launched from pond behind it) and two smaller launchpads appear to be on both of the large ride buildings on left and right back side of the park—on the Monsters Unchained and Ministry of Magic buildings.

Credit to @Scott W. for being first to post about it on Twitter.

The old concept art literally shows fireworks in these three spots!

Okay so the framing is basically… stand in celestial park, face the Helios, fireworks in front and on either side.

There's definitely going to be a good side of the fountain and a bad side of the fountain to watch the show from.

For sure! I assume you don’t want to be too close to the Helios, or you’re likely have no view of the main fireworks.

I know it takes a few seasons for greenery to grow into the space, but man by the looks of it I can’t help but think that this park will be brutal in the heat.

Yeah it's looking similar in shade to Epcot. I'm sure once the trees grow in it will be a little better. There seems to be a lot of shade in the lands, not so much in celestial park. I'm thinking they cut that decorative berm near the Carousel to add more trees to the area.

Pretty sure that Woody's Lunch Box was an experiment to see what tourists would tolerate.

And now here we are.

Is it normal for the concept art to properly portray almost exactly what the final product will look like? I feel like that doesn't happen often lately. I'm glad Universal finally has a show with proper fireworks!

The berm was in the fly through renders. I think it was maybe intended to block something outside the park, maybe the Orlando Eye? Would have to see the view from the ground to be sure though.

Referring to this brief moment? It was brief so I missed it. I think it served more as a placeholder than what the final product would have looked like.

celestialBerm.png

I say that is because there was that berm closer to the carousel which had a similar design in the preview video however when it came to building things out in the park it appeared they had a different plan when they constructed the weird half-circle cement structures sometime between June and August 2024. Those were eventually taken down and replaced with what's there now, which is just some trees and plants sans berm. (Best picture I could find right now from earlier.)

whattheberm.png

I suspect this structure was going to be more functional as I believe the white dots and squiggles were going to be some kind of lighting effect similar to the ones seen on the facade of the Blue Dragon restaurant. Out of everything else in the preview videos, these two area stuck out because they were so plain-looking so I assumed there had to be more to them than what was originally shown.

whiteSquiggles.jpg

The Orlando Eye is located directly west of the retention pond behind Helios so it wasn't meant to block sight lines for that; Stardust Racers and HTTYD are in the direction of the berm when looking from the carousel and I'm fairly certain those block view from outside the park already. I can't think of anything else that they may be trying to block sights from if that was Universal's intention.

Like I said before, this is one area I find particularly interesting because of how it started and what it became. Nearly everything else in the park has been built as expected from the concept art, so this is one of those mysteries that may never be solved (publicly at least).

I don't think it'll be that bad because even if you have your back to Helios you're still getting fireworks on the left or right. That may be exactly why they're launching fireworks from the side, so you won't miss out on that part of the show. Now if Helios plays a part in the show through something like projection mapping, then yes having your back to it might be considered a bad spot instead of less than ideal.

Apparently epic universe might open without ministry of magic. Cause apparently they have only been able to cycle 2 ride vehicles so they may just have the live show for opening day
