I’m sure over the next 12 weeks they will resolve the issues. If it opens with less than full capacity but is a great attraction, no one will know anything other than “it’s so popular, the lines are huge”.

So far I’ve heard great things about the entire park from the couple of people who have done the TM rehearsals. Apparently they’re really loving Stardust Racers (despite the grumblings about roughness)

I think opening the park without the ride would be a PR disaster. They’ve used the ride as a huge part of the marketing and advertising on social media. If it’s not ready, it’s not ready. But I feel confident they’re gonna do absolute everything they can to have it open in some capacity.

plus the other lands and rides will have much longer lines. it doesn't just affect the potter area,
but everything else will get more crowded

Absolutely. There’s a show there and tons of food, beverage, and merch

This would also explain why single day tickets aren’t available yet.

They wouldn't have sold the FL resident deal last week if that were the case or continue to push hotel packages with the park.

It'll be a PR disaster if Ministry can't open with the park since AP tickets and 3-day tickets have been sold already.

There’s no way they would declare this with definitive certainty 3 months out from opening. If the problem is truly that the ride keeps breaking down and they’re trying to correct ops, they could have this thing up and running in time if a mixture of luck and ingenuity falls their way. This is the park’s flagship attraction. They do not want to make people feel like they traveled all this way to visit and have a luck of the draw for getting on. As someone mentioned, that’s a PR nightmare. It may come to that, but that’s not something they’re relegating themselves to at this point, I can almost guarantee it.

When I opened Rise at WDW they didn’t tell us we’d be using VQ until opening day itself. Obviously Uni is a different beast than Disney but I’d be shocked if they made that decision this far in advance.

Also, Universal knows how much people hate virtual cues. Questions about it have shown up in surveys. I would say its not impossible, but I would be very very surprised it is virtual cue only.
