Now that we've got a better idea of the concept...

As a preface, I've said it before and I'll say it again, when it comes to monsters I lean towards the beastly/animal/creature side of things. A post-apocalyptic zoo is absolutely up my alley, but the choice of it being cannibals instead of hybrids/mutant animals is personally disappointing in that regard.

For me, this house is gonna' be riding on how the cannibals look. If they're all geared up to look more beastly than human, I'll happily take that! If not, then this concept is "Close, but no Cigar...", a literal imitation of what the concept could've been.

I do have faith the team can pull it off, but in terms of anticipation it will be on the lower side as the monster choice is not one that excites me.

It’s hard to overstate how much I agree with you. That creature vs. human villain point is one my group has discussed for years

I’m starting to think we won’t see HHN bear in this one since all animals are extinct

Nah, I'll rather see the full thing. H.R. Bloodengutz or J+O (Clown HHN bear) is my new guess.

Tbh I sorta wonder if this is them trying to use some of the concept art from FO last year, this is the exact type of concept you could pull from the games but not the show.

If anyone in the know can answer, what ingredients do they use to make a :poop: smell? I would guess rotten eggs?

Just found a Simpsons clip that perfectly sums up the idea of this house:

There is a company called Froggy's Fog that makes fog machines (obviously), but they also provide numerous smell dispensers to go with them. I've been to a few haunt conventions, and I've checked them out several times because we use them for our escape room. Some of their smells are absolutely HEINIOUS - you think the poo smell is bad.. that's nothing compared to "rotting corpse" or "dumpster". They have loads of them, and I'm pretty sure Universal uses them. To prevent guests from vomiting, I'm thinking they would keep the smells pretty tame because there is definite potential for mass barfing if they choose something too intense (i.e. rotting corpse).

Their Slaughterhouse scent is chemical warfare, I cannot be convinced otherwise.

Should you choose to do so - I would suggest wearing gloves or using about four paper towels wrapped around the bottle when you open it to smell it. If even a drop of that stuff gets on your fingers, you CANNOT get that rank smell off for days. There is your PSA for the day.

I think a zoo house is a really interesting concept that I haven't seen before, and that alone would rank this reasonably high on my anticipated list. Very similar to the solid concepts for a twisted Carnival Midway or an evil "Night of the Museum" house, I think the location gives a lot of liberty to make really fun, novel, interesting setpieces.

Unfortunately, I've been burned before. IMO Carnival Graveyard was mediocre at best, and Museum was actively bad. Mostly because they seemed to work around the theme, rather than with it. CG had far more Junkyard than it had Carnival, and Museum was a conceptual and visual mess all around. It seemed to want to avoid most of the obvious Museum Gallery motifs in favor of strange and contradicting niche concepts.

There seems to be a lot of passion from the creatives behind this one, which is nice to see - but I worry that this house will simply repeat history over again. Doing an "abandoned zoo" house, without any animals is ... a choice. I hope they've got interesting ideas to back it up.
