Rode the ride today. IT'S NOT ROUGH. Sorry to be harsh, but you guys either don't know how to ride a roller coaster correctly, or you you get very unlucky very often.

And I have pics I'll post tomorrow, er, later today. I think they might show something.

Ok. Thank you. I didn't know which side to side with after thinking about it. Anyway, I can't wait for the update....

We'll definitely have to agree to disagree on that one. I've been riding Hulk regularly with an AP for 8 years, and there's a noticeable difference, in my opinion. And I don't have that problem with any other Central Florida coaster, except of course Gwazi.

And "knowing how to ride a coaster" isn't a factor here.

But don't get me wrong - I'm not hating on Hulk, and it's not to the point of being completely unbearable (yet), like Gwazi is. Just that I can't do Hulk back-to-back anymore.

But who knows - there's always the possibility I'm just getting too old  but like I said, none of the other area coasters give me any issues.

You didn't find it rough??? Hm. Did you stand on the bridge for the standard length of time and focus on the rust beneath? Because you are really supposed to do that for 10 minutes before riding. Don't listen to the people on the ride itself screaming with joy and excitement (that might be piped in sound effects) but who cares, focus on the rust and how the track is about to disintegrate under the rust that has surely dissolved through some of the connections. That rust is nasty and the track probably has the structural integrity of the Titanic in its current location on the sea floor. So, before you ride, think "rust, rickety, disrepair, and headache and yes, DEATH.

Keep in mind that we learned recently that each four seat section is detachable and that is how many of them are worked on. An entire train we get to see today might have two new sections tomorrow from a train we saw four weeks ago.

I hope that a few of you enjoyed my severe sarcasm and I hope you know that you mantaguy should be in the hospital right now with a severe concussion. You obviously didn't look at the lack of new paint and the superfluous rust long enough.

 sarcasm aside, "rust" has never been an issue for me. In fact we all know the color issue isn't even "rust", and nothing is compromising the structural integrity of the ride. And like I said, I've always loved Hulk --- one of my favorite rides in Orlando without a doubt. He's just a little rougher on me these days...... so be it, it happens to the best of us with age......

The real question is how long are you willing to put up with this problem until you speak out about it?

The problem of "roughness" you mean? Honestly, the way I see it is this: If Hulk (or any other attraction at any park) isn't what it used to be for me, I'll move on to the next. I may not be able to enjoy Hulk like I used to, but back in the day I didn't have Forbidden Journey across the way as an option.

So it is what it is . One attraction gets older, and newer ones come in. When the attractions get old and the new ones stop coming ---- that's when the AP is no longer worth it. But honestly, that just hasn't been an issue for me yet -- neither for Universal or Disney.

True. It's the way of the theme park attraction life (If there is one). But, Universal will get to Hulk one day. That day is when ether Universal finaly gets to it, people speak out and make Universal fix it, and so on (you can put in the reason here).......

EDIT: OH, Is Hulk painted yet?

NO!!!

You're also 8 years older now ;) While we'd all hate to admit it, age changes how we feel on coasters. It used to be part of my job to test coasters and theme park rides...sometimes riding them 25 times in a row. I never had a problem with numerous rides. Hulk was one of them, Mummy, Doom and some others. I rode Hulk about 4 months ago and thought I was going to puke for the first time ever. I figured it was something I ate. Tried again last weekend and the same thing happened. Just yesterday I thought "eh, it's just Hulk" Nope...tested out Dragons Ice, which is less intense, and I got the same feeling. Lame, I know.

Perhaps, and I will offer this, that IF it is true as claimed by someone on here that they reweld entirely new pieces of pipe track to the main structure, it could created a few new bumps. I do not have any confirmation that this is a true B&M refurb schedule. I am not a coaster enthusiast so I will leave it to you little devils to find out... and do what Teebin does, write to or call the source. Don't call UOR, Don't call Six-Flags... Call Bolliger & Mabillard. I mean c'mon, I have called Musion, The Boston Symphony Orchestra, and a major themed convention design company working for "most likely "Electronic Arts" in the past months to get some answers for you here. So, call B&M and ask to speak to one of their design engineers re. the Hulk. You WILL get through... just sound smart and sharp.

BTW: Check out the projects that B&M had in 1999 and 2001... and then look at the last two years. Rough stuff. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolliger_&_Mabillard

Very true  -- and don't think I've forgotten it......

BUT it still goes back to the fact that none of the others (Dragons, Mummy, Shiekra, Kumba, Space Mountain, so on, so forth) affect me differently than they used to. If they did, I would simply chalk it up to being an old man.

Plus, I'd say I honestly feel as good as I ever have (health-wise).....

Teebin, I think you mean that the roughness osme people feel is in their heads, but sarcasm is a foreign language to me, so tell me if I'm wrong. And actually, I did precisely what you described, to take pictures, that are coming soon. Then I rode the ride. Admittedly, I came off with a five minute headache, but nothing more. Let's face it, it's an eleven year old roller coaster that gets huge wera and tear each day from trains roaring on its rails. It's bound to get rough around the edges eventually.

Well, I know for a fact there at now at least three spots of real rust on the top of the spine. Rust that could eventually spread and damage the structural integrity. Lets' hope it dosn't go that far. As for me, I could re-ride immeadiately on my last trip. It didn't really bother me. But each person is different and reacts differently to the forces.

Rockit is so weird. Sometimes, it's smooth as Manta, others it gives me a jarring headache. I think its the particular car.

Anyway, pictures from yesterday:

Oh Lord, Teebin. I said it, it wasn't a mystical sooooooommmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnneeeee. And no I'm not going to go scanning QC documents to prove it to you. Any guest can ask to talk to the technical services lead and they will show the guest some of the weld areas...

...or you can check the NAARSO agenda for 2009 confrence...oh wait, you don't know what that is...
