As a senior citizen, the chance to visit a theme park intended for young children excites me.

And the barrage of construction photos continues! :bang: Orlando Theme Park News has posted a two-part photo update taken from the park's equivalent of a skytower, "The Island in the Sky."

Part 1: http://orlandoparksnews.blogspot.com/2011/08/aerial-view-of-legoland-florida-aug.html
Part 2: http://orlandoparksnews.blogspot.com/2011/08/aerial-view-of-legoland-florida-aug_08.html

Of particular interest:

The newly renovated "Island in the Sky"

The stadiums for the water ski show have been painted

Miniland is still being worked on

The rider capacity for "Royal Joust" looks like it will be a nightmare if those are single kiddie rides

The castle wall looks really neat. I wish they'd have added new coaster or two to the preexisting ones from Cypress Gardens though. The horses looks so darn fun and cute!

is anybody else kinda dissapointed at what they see so far? i understand that the park is unfinished but i thought that there would be more rides on site by now, but maybe im wrong since most attractions in this park are flat rides.

I don't see this working at all, unless they pay people $$$ to visit... it is a distant tourist site far from Disney and Orlando. And the drive is horrid. From what I recall, you have to drive right through downtown to visit. That is like everyone having to drive Int. Dr to get to UOR. Why they didn't put this where 'happy china' was (I know, I am being rude) I have no idea. If it doesn't fail then I will feel soooooo stupid for this post.

^I agree 100%. The location isn't the wisest. Eventhough it's 45 minutes south of Orlando, it still took me longer to drive to Winter Haven, than it did to get to I-4! With that said, I do hope it's successful however. I have a 4 year old daughter, and I know she's going to love this park. I plan on going in November, a month or so after their grand opening. Hopefully by then if there's any issues, they'll be worked out.

Legoland California's basically the same distance from Los Angeles and San Diego, and it's still successful. Possibly I'm just being too optimistic, but it's hard to imagine Florida's failing while California's prospered.
