It seems that there's a lot of conflicting information regarding that though, since HTF said earlier that there's no plans to remove LC in the near future.

I meant Toon Lagoon, not LC.

It needs to die.

And I still think it will.

I would much rather see LC replaced and expanded into LOTR.

Can't really be expanded. TL is the only place big enough, IMO

I agree that LC is a ghost of its former self after Potter dismembered it... but it's still got some gems: Mythos primarily, but even the gyro place is good, and the fountain, plus the theme and theming overall are some of the best in the resort. I just hope one day they'll re-work the two attractions so we can keep Lost Continent. Poseidon could be an awesome dark ride and Sindab could be tightened up...

Two major problems with that. Complete lack of space and WWoHP is right next to it. I honestly doubt JK/WB would approve of LoTR being placed DIRECTLY in front of WWoHP.

Yeah, even with Toon Lagoon's better attraction line up, I'd rather it leave than Lost Continent. It's my least favorite island, IMO.

Plus from a creative perspective, having two high fantasy properties right next to each other would be a little discombobulating.

Lord of the Rings can take over TL as long as Popeye stays. It would be an absolute shame to lose the best rapids ride.

After riding Dudley today, while its a fun ride, the theming is so half-a**ed it's not funny.

Popeye is great.

I won't shed a tear if the bulldozers started up tomorrow to put a state of the art dark ride on top of its bones.

Agreed. I do love Popeye myself, but if it gets axed in favor of something that will really benefit the park in the long-run, I say go for it.

With the amount of space it takes up, the possibilities of a new ride(s) are endless.

Not to mention it could be a ride that isn't rendered useless when it's cold or raining.

I just think the placement of Popeye leaves it in a good situation to just be repurposed in any potential re-theme of the land. It's very out of the way and on the water pretty much. Dudley is using up much more valuable land (and putting it to bad use imo).

So I understand the whole point behind IOA having to many soaking water attractions and being rendered useless in bad weather. BUT we all know how freaking hot it gets in the summer and I know that UO, as a whole, needs a good, soaking, water ride such as popeye. I always do IOA first and then head to USF and normally its in the middle of the day when Im wishing Universal had a water ride. And I notice that during the busy season and in the summer people flock to Dudley, Popeye, and JPRA.

Point being.

I couldn't care less if Dudley gets an axe...in fact, I'd rather see it get the axe but something like popeye is needed. I have never been once soaked on JRPA but always find relief on popeye bc it cools me off.

But would I love to see a state of the art dark ride? Heck yes...but destroy Dudley and put it there.

I'm getting desperate. I just don't want to see my favorite rides go away in Toon Lagoon.

Well there are people who love the water ride factor. A lot of people. Those rides are major people eaters.

I'm not in favor of removing anything while there is still other limited land options available. Unless a water ride is added to USF.

Normally I do USF first so I can get on the water rides while its hot having the three in IOA definitely helps IMO.

I absolutely love LOTR, but destroying 2 of the best water rides in Florida is a horrible idea! People complain all the damn time about their lack of theme, more so with Dudley, and I don't get it. Their storylines aren't the best, but I think the general public could care less. You don't ride attractions like those for the themed elements, you ride them for water factor. If you don't like getting soaked, don't ride them. But a large chunk of guests enjoy them immensely. During the warmer months, Dudley has one of the longest, if not the longest lines in the park. Theme parks in Florida need water rides; enough said.

It will depend i suppose if the hobbit would be included with the LoTR if the land we to replace TL, but popeye could stay if they made it be the barrel escape, which will happen in the Desolation of Smaug. Just needs to be rethemed but the ride itself wouldnt need to be touched. You could probably even get away with keeping the rafts as they are.
