F&F has some earth moving equipment onsite. Machinery can be heard behind the wall at the old Disaster entrance. Capacity is hurting badly at Universal so I hope they hurry up.

Today only a couple of rides at Islands are over 20 minute wait. Most of Universal is 45 to 110 minute waits.

Eh, I hope they take their time. They have the chance to make a huge wow of an attraction here that park fans have been suggesting since the second entry in the franchise.

Universal will build a great attraction for sure, but it's one that I have practically 0 anticipation for.

I'm more hyped for Frozen and believe it or not, Fallon. That's because I expect those 2 to 'over deliver' for what they are, whereas I expect this to match or slightly miss my expectations on what it should be for its scope.

Note I'm not saying Frozen will be better than F&F, just delivering differently on their remit.

I stated this on the Screenz thread; and i'll state it again.

I am in the camp that I think that they will make changes to F&F that will accommodate more practical effects, so its not as bad (Aka, get robotic cars into the 360 room). Musion, in my opinion; will be a major factor to Supercharged, and not Full-screens.

Especially looking at USH, the only two scenes that had a major screen presence was the Musion room (which featured the rising semi truck) and the 360 room (with the curved screen). I would think that because of the possible delay, its to help allocate time to incorporate the use of new actors from Fast8, and to rework the entire 360 room to accommodate robotic effects (Helicopters, Cars). That way; the attraction doesn't have as much of a problem as some people fear.

I also want to add, that I think that the line will be very much of a "Lets change things out every two years"; so that way, they can incorporate more cars from future installments (it'd make sense too when you think about it, synergizing the future films while getting repeatability for fans of the franchise). That way, it can cover for the probable lack of practical effects in the line.

Incorporate two-scenes (Musion oriented with practical effects) before what Hollywoods preshow was, the preshow from Hollywood (updated to accommodate Ludricis and maybe Scott Eastwood), then having the new 360 room feature not just Luke Evans, but Jason Statham to the mix, and then one new final goodbye scene with Scott, Ludricis, Tyreese, Dwayne, Michelle and Vin projected onto a musion set.

It'd make the ride up to date with the series, while allowing changes to accommodate the area (and as stated, 360 room to update in its size to accommodate robotics). I think that should be the best option, if they aren't re-working it to act much more like the Gringotts/Mummy system. You wouldn't really need 3D too, in a strange way; but that's my opinion on what I think should/could be the case for Supercharged, so it doesn't piss everyone off.

I've been largely ignoring this project, because I don't really care, but is there any evidence of changes being made? It seems like it's a bit late in the game for that.

I just don't want this ride to feel like a severely downgraded Kong with a F&F skin put on it. Sure Transformers is similar to Spider-Man and is missing some of the more practical stuff but Kong seems like a whole other level to what I'm imagining for this ride.

I highly highly doubt any changes have been made.

What if they were able to incorporate something like the KUKA cars that were over at Hollywood during the F&F Tokyo Drift portion of the tram tour? Obviously that had HORRIBLE execution, but in a dim indoors portion moving next to a ride vehicle I could see it working.

Unfortunately I'm expecting this to be a copy/paste of the version in the backlot tour at Hollywood, which isn't that great from what I've heard. On the plus side, I can't be disappointed if I expect nothing.

That is an awfully big space for just a cut and paste.

I don't think it'll necessarily be a straight copy, but I'm still expecting this to be nothing more than a middling effort for Universal, especially compared to the recent output.

Do we have good word that this is going to be another 360 screen? I don't recall the chat on it.

It is a large area, larger than Kong? I kinda think there must be a lot more to this attraction than that. I seriously hope that this turns out to be better than is currently being anticipated..

Are we likely to see work in this park start to ramp up now that Kong is just about finalised?

360 scene is a guarantee, yes. It is a larger area than Kong, which leads me to believe there will be more to the actual ride, but if the ride system is Kong-like, who knows how much more.

I'm guessing once Kong, Sapphire, and Hulk are done we'll see the two Studios projects pick up the pace a bit.

It just occurred to me that any deep hole that they are digging might be for the truck lift scene if they have kept that.

I think this is what is bugging me most about this attraction. I think people have been waiting for a long time for a ride based on F&F and have high hopes for what it should be.

I know the franchise isn't for everybody but it has made some big bucks for Universal and I think it should be getting special treatment.

Convoluted, do you realize you are reading and replying to medieval manuscripts? I think I wrote some of those when I was a racoon.

My feeling is that they need to plus it a lot. It wasn't too successful in Hollywood, and I just can't see Comcast/Universal sitting on those shaky laurels with so much budget on the line. But I'm guessing there will only be minor modifications in the 360 main scene. I'm thinking they add numerous time , scenes and experiences like they did with Kong, enough so the final result is a fuller experience, and as different from F&F Hollywood as Reign of Kong is from the Hollywood Kong 360. Like Teebin, I can't get excited about this since I'm not much of a fan of F&F or car crash movies. So, I'm meh on the IP, but hopeful it turns into a decent attraction.

I don't disagree, but it is what it is at this point.

It did well enough. Normal guests seem to like it.

Not much of an attendance jump though. I think it was along the lines of 4%.
