I may be in the minority on this but i love the facade for this ride, and i think a new ride system with comedy in the ride will make it a great experience

I think people are slowly turning to a more positive light. I'm hoping that the ride has some random and interchangeable elements in it so every ride feels a bit more unique.

I'm not down on this at all. It should be a huge improvement over Twister and the facade already is. F&F is where I'm pessimistic. F&F is the only thing I'm not looking forward to in the coming years though.

Honestly, I feel this ride will be a sleeper hit of the year...And Universal's next big hurtle in my opinion (besides practical stuff) is screen rides that have multiple ride films programmed in...Easy for a ride like this...And by easy I mean, I have no idea how easy it is

Low expectations is probably the greatest asset this ride has. If Star Tours can produce multiple videos then I'm sure Universal can do it here.

The other major benefit they have is that they have Fallon recording almost daily and he's on contract to the same company building the ride.

I can honestly see a lot of interactivity between the ride and the show. It adds a dynamic to the ride and people will return if they think that they might get to appear on tv and millions will be watching a giant advert for the parks. It's a huge win win for both sides.

The difference between Star Tours and Fallon is that ST is all CGI whereas the Fallon ride requires Jimmy to film new footage in order to have multiple ride profiles.

He certainly has enough content to film more than enough for multiple rides. As long as each segment starts and ends at the same place, they can mix and match however they want.

I also expect there to be a huge amount of CGI given that all the making of videos were on green screen.

Yeah, but who knows how many scenes they filmed. If they do 3-4 "scenes" like Star Tours, and filmed 3 or 4 options for each, thats only 16 scenes they had to film. Not that big a deal really, but opens up practically unlimited re-rideability.

Boy, do you have a fixation on the Rockettes? I mean, you have used that joke a number of times. :whoo:

Not that I blame you and I wouldn't necessarily argue against your idea. Ooh, maybe they could retheme HRRR to New York Rip, Ride and Rockettes and you get to ride the coaster with one of the ladies. For a slight upcharge. She would then escort you over to Fallon. I'm thinking that this will outclass any Disney upcharge.

He has to film new footage for his show every night besides friday and saturday for his shorts and skits. I'm sure he has no qualms filming for the company that pays his checks.

You'd think HRRR would be easy to update the song list too considering Universal has a successful music label, but they don't do that. For example, you'd think Pharrell's song "Happy" would be a no-brainer considering it's relationship with Despicable Me, which neighbors HRRR.

The truth is, a lot of people think just because these companies (UOR/Comcast, Disney Parks/TWDC) should be able to integrate things like this a lot easier. However, Uni Parks and NBC television are two completely separate divisions. They do have a decent working relationship, but it does make it hard as there's a wall that has to be broken through to even get the ball rolling.

But as said before, he could've already filmed enough to have multiple ride profiles at the rides launch. However, considering Uni hasn't said anything that would lead me to believe that, i'm not holding my breath on that one. I'll see when the ride opens.

In another thing to point out, it's not like they'd be easily able to do new jokes/things for RtNY easily. I'd even say it'd cost as much as adding a Star Tours destination, as it'd have to change a lot of elements seen in the original ride footage alongside having Fallon and his crew contracted to write new segments and to probably film them off-site and not at the main studio.

In a sense, I could see it as a yearly thing but I don't think it'd be something that they can change every month.

I know it likely won't happen, but i'd love to see Uni do more than just the upcharge EVE event for NYE and doing this 30 Rock/Times Square type area could be a great opportunity to add a ball drop to the park's yearly offerings to ring in the new year. It would be a completely unique offering among Orlando theme park celebrations, too.

Star Tours also has the unique element of the jump to light speed where they can change the video easily.
