It's certainly not for construction as they would have just the scaffolding. They don't seem to lead any where though although it does seem to end on a platform.

They're introducing a new cliff diving experience into a deep pool. Or not. ;)

It's just dawned on me reading this that if there don't have a floor is lava game in the kids area, this is wasted potential.

I'm finding it strange that they're calling this a theme park but theyre making a distinction between the other two parks.

I was drinking last night and I can't really remember posting this. I think the point I was trying to make is that even though Universal are calling this their 3rd theme park, it's obviously not the same as IOA and the Studios.

If Universal were to add let's say a steel coaster and a flat ride to Volcano Bay, would it then be considered a theme park?

Does anyone know when IOA had softs opening they gave AP holders a preview of the park? Wondering the same for Volcano Bay, being that its a new park too.

Will there be an opportunity for expansion here?

There is now some sort of windmill looking theming element near the slides with the drop at the end.

Looks like there's an expansion pad just southwest of the park.

Not really enthused hearing that the park most likely won't be 100% done when opened. I get that they wanted to beat Avatar but still, c'mon Universal.

In the lower left of this pic it looks like there are foundations for more volcano supports. I'm really thinking they will still be building this place in June.

When it was last October and I saw the pace of construction I thought they would have it open by April for sure but the devil is in the details as they say and I think they will be hard pressed to get it open by June 1 so that leaves no time for softs/AP previews. Pretty sure they will open and keep working through July to get all the bits finished

I can't imagine a park like this opening without softs or at least a lot of training for the life guards.

On a more positive note:

HTF also said that most doubters will have their worries quelled in April as it all comes together, and that most of the unfinished portions will be very minor. "Minor" recalls Buena Vista Street at DCA opening with some unpolished details and Manta as SeaWorld San Diego not having the area around its footers landscaped on opening.

I just can't wait to watch what happens next.
