Personally I rank Universal Studios & MK as my favorite parks, tied for number one. IOA is a very close second. Diagon/London/Hogwarts/Gringotts took it over the top. Nothing even close to that anywhere.

Diagon Alley (and all that goes with it) is the most extraordinary themed land in America, but I'd easily rank Epcot, Islands of Adventure, and Magic Kingdom as superior parks for me. There's just not enough variety in USF at the moment for me to put it higher, and Fast & Furious is not going to change that. Hopefully Nintendo will.

I have high hopes for Nintendo, but a great land that's high on practical-set based rides doesn't undo the other 7 (Simpsons, DMMM, Fallon, F&F, Gringotts, T2, Shrek) 3D & motion-based rides.

The best thing about F&F, as someone said a page or so back, is the gigantic showbuilding which can be repurposed for something better down the line.

No, but it would start to diversify the attraction lineup and bring things back into balance. The key phrase there is "start to."

5 years ago you would have been correct. But it's really become a solid park with Universal BLVD, Super Silly Funland, Springfield and Hogsmeade additions.

You also forgot the Special Effects Stages show which is probably one of the best Behind the Scenes show at any of the Studios parks.

Agreed, we visited during 3 separate trips within 18 months, and by the last trip we were bored of UOR. As a result we've not renewing our APs this year (due to only having one trip, it'll be a few years till we get back over due to starting a family)

Apart from a queue and unique ride vehicles. Don't expect the experience to stray much from what's currently in Hollywood.

Same. I'm done with UOR, at least until Nintendo. Not renewing my pass but I am getting an AP to Disney soon. Universal will see a drop in AP passholders.

Ummm, triggered? I've seen similar comments about not renewing on the UOR fan page.

Funny because I've never been a WDW annual passholder.
Disney has more to offer now, at least for me. Between food and wine, flower and garden, Pandora opening up, Rivers of light, Disney springs, Magic Kingdoms new night firework show. Bye Universal, see you in 2019?

Advantage to living 900 miles away. I don't have to make this choice. I will probably do a vacation this year to loop in Pandora and Kong, (probably hit Fallon to cross it off). Disadvantage to living 900 miles away. I don't get to make this choice which sucks January through February.

Not having been on USH's F&F segment, I really can't judge this ride. No, it isn't what I would have preferred but it might be fun. It probably won't make me feel like I have to go to UO next year for this ride. I have a feeling that people on this forum probably feel more strongly about it than the general public. With that said, my wife, who likes IOA but prefers to just stay in the Disney bubble, commented how all the rides at UNI felt the same. Same gags, screens, ride platforms, etc. We still enjoy IOA, though.

Yes. Same here, only about 8o more miles. As a tourist, I think we have very different views and reactions of new attractions from most locals. My view of F&F is less jaded than it was previously for a number of reasons. First, After experiencing Kongs 360 degree screen, I'm looking forward to this 360 screen. That 360 segment on Kong was very impressive and probably was 2 minutes of the best theme park experience I've ever had. And, according to Robert Niles of TPI, the Kong 360 screen scene was technically vastly superior to Hollywood's. I'm thinking the same will occur with the F&F 360 scene. They'll correct the technical shortcomings.Second, we're hearing rumblings that the non 360 scenes are different from Hollywood's. That was the portion of their attraction that I didn't like. Hopefully, there will be some set effects in the new configuration. Third, a couple of our most dependable posters (Alexshow being one) from the western USA finally got to experience the F&F attraction Hollywood within the past year and said it exceeded their expectations, considering the bad press.....Yes, Universal Studios probably has too high a percentage of screen based attractions, but IOA doesn't really have many, and now with Hogwart's Express as a fun and easy way to move between the two parks, and 80 % of tickets being park hoppers, Universal is more like one really big park rather than two separate ones....As I've said in other posts, this attraction stuff seems to work in cycles. Looking at the 90's, most of the attractions at the Studio's were behind the scenes shows/attractions, and Universal got out of that cycle pretty quick. I still think the most screen heavy park is actually Epcot. Just about everything over there is a screen. So Universal sure isn't alone. ....The bottom line to me on an attraction, and I rate attractions as a combination of queue, pre shows & ride, is whether they are FUN and ENTERTAINING. I really don't even notice things like story and ride type. .....If I wasn't such a theme park enthusiast on this board, and just a regular Joe visiting the parks, I doubt I'd even know what the Screenze controversy was about. Plus, I wouldn't be looking at back walls of buildings through the trees and complaining they weren't themed. As a regular tourist, my view and perception of these controversies would probably be non existent....Just my opinion though. :)
