The second half has sped up a few seconds compared to how it was running back in December, could be warmed up or tweaked launch/trim settings, and hands down is a pretty standard thing for most promo shoots.

I don't know. Maybe it's the extra lsm they added to the top hat about three weeks ago. I could be wrong. Plus it's a fully loaded train. Could make a difference. I'm not a mechanical engineer, just work with civil engineers for a living. But I did sleep at a Holiday inn last night.

Yes, I kind of miss Dueling Dragons 1.0 every once in a while

But then I think about how it was invented before everyone had a mini computer in their pocket and how it would have never dueled again

Hagrid and Velocicoaster are worthy replacements

Now to replace HRRR *glares*

I think it’s more than worthy. Universal have replaced two average inverted coasters with world class and modern coasters. One looks like a hell of a lot of fun with Hagrid’s and Velocicoaster is going to appeal to those looking for some intense thrills.

It’s added more than we could have hoped.

Admittedly--I'm wondering if they're going to shoot for a President's Day soft launch, to then iron out the kinks till May encase if anything goes ary~ Especially as it seems like the priority is on completing the waterfront.

I was just looking through the parks to see what has changed since I was last there around a decade ago and it was a bit of a shock going onto Wikipedia and seeing all the new attractions.

It was clear that the park was quite a bit busier when the initial Wizarding World expansion initially opened and whilst it's sad to see Jaws gone, it's great to see that Universal have built on that progress and been brave enough to make these sorts of decisions. It's always contentious but the parks are competing with a lot and I feel inaction can be quite negative.

The last two times I was there, the Rip Ride Rockit was closed and had ongoing issues. From that, I was skeptical of Universals ability to undergo such big change in short time but it seems like they've knocked it out the park recently and been able to handle major projects in parallel alongside servicing their existing rides. Hell, there's even been a new water park opening as well.

I dont think those at the top are LSM's, those require big power cables and cooling fans, at the top will be a magnetic trim brake to created that hangtime stall, in testing though they may of adjusted the position and height to get the optimum braking of the train to get the designed effect

He has some great shots in here, particularly at 2:50 with a great view of the guests on the second launch

This has pretty much already been confirmed by those in-the-know to be incorrect. They're 100% LSM stators, and at no point have we seen the 'anticipation stall' effect from them in testing. They almost certainly can be used as a trim, but they have a dual purpose of being able to give the train a little boost over the crest if it doesn't make it. Also, the power cables run down the track on the JP side.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong- but if I've been keeping up with it, there's three separate power hubs(not sure what to call them) for LSMs on site. Two are on the roof of the station, and one is housed in the first show building.

You are 100 percent correct. But like I said I'm not a mechanical engineer. Just observant. There were 3 lsm's on the top hat and now there's 4. Also, the power sources you speak of are for three things....the initial launch, the second launch/top hat, and the brake run.

Here's a closer shot of the stators, they are dual purpose but normally they'll just be acting as trims. I assume the main reason they went with LSMs rather than normal brakes is because retractable fins wouldn't be possible with this track style and they needed more control than static brake fins would give them.

My only comment for the moment is, if they were to open this early, I'd be scheduling my trip within minutes.

It's like a coaster just appeared there one day

I'm really really thankful they focused so hard on recapturing the jungle aesthetic that was once there

Universal has done a really nice job on this, blending it in with the Discovery Center. It's not obtrusive at all.
