HHN Hollywood General Discussion - 2017

1.) I would count 747 as a legitimate soundstage, so yes; they have used one before in the post 2000 era.

2.) I think that Murdy said that he'd be waiting for a proper album from Cooper to be released. Which, will be this July.

I think it'd be a bit too late though for that to go through with a venue like Waterworld.

Sorry for the dumb questions but I could've sworn I read somewhere that Murdy wants(or wanted) to do something Alice related. Who knows maybe next year we'll get an original house? Most likely if that was true Alice might be a scarezone

He's talked about wanting to do something original based on Alice in wonderland before but the last time that was brought up was 2 years ago. He talks a lot about Alice Cooper though

Far as I know you could expect Trick 'R Treat next year, and possibly Twin Peaks... there's a definitive 50/50 on that one.

There will be a panel for Jigsaw on Friday though. That has already been confirmed officially.

There is no "Jigsaw Panel". The writer and director of Jigsaw are going to be a small part of the "Reinventing Horror for Movies and Comics" panel in a tiny room with a bunch of other creatives in Horror. That's not the same thing as a movie having its own panel, nor is the focus of the panel Jigsaw.

I am telling you 100% right now, that's not an appropriate platform for Universal to announce an HHN maze on. I go to SDCC every year and every time Universal announced something it was in Hall H, on the largest stage during panels dedicated to the property they were based on.

Not only that but will be revealing the Film's Trailer most likely on Friday when there is a Panel with Writers of Jigsaw and a Signing with people who worked on Jigsaw. That's not to say that they can't they definitely can. They don't even need to announce it at SDCC but around the time that the trailer is released. But it makes sense to have the Directors say the Announcement or have Murdy join them.

I never did get to say the New Connection I just found for "Uber Fan" which I found on a Interview Murdy had with WE. Which says..
Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights: 7 fan-only maze secrets

"For the uber fans, we lost Wes Craven last year, so there’s a very obvious Easter egg right at the beginning."

Which maybe supports the idea of a New NOES Maze? Based on the 1984 Film. That maybe Murdy will do something very similar to the Facade he did with FVJ with the Boiler Factory. Sure it's not something we have never had but it's something I wanted to point out.

Or from a 2012 Article about interviewing Murdy about the Alice Cooper Maze.

"So that's always the balancing act we do as designers, to make sure it works for the Uber Fan and also the casual fan".

Which as you know the New Alice Cooper Album Paranormal is coming out this year so yeah.

It appears Blumhouse's rumored location has started construction...

Hoping to here Redbone in the Get Out portion of the maze, a distorted version or something would be so cool, especially in the Sunken Place.

Redbone better play in the Get Out portion; so what rare the properties we think/know are in the Blumhouse maze now?

So far we know The Purge, Get Out, Sinister, Ouija, and Split will be in the Maze. I think there is a very high chance both the Paranormal Activity Series and The Green Inferno will be in the Maze.

So is this maze gonna be like that one Orlando house Silver Screams where it's 1 room per movie with transitions in between, or is it gonna be mulptiple per movie

I have no idea I would think it would work like AHS where it will be a Couple of Scenes that tell the story of that property there is a Transition Hallway or Thing that will take you into the Next Property.

Ok; so at this point do we think Blumhouse is the "science project" or do we think it's Jigsaw

I have no idea but Blumhouse could be Science Project since it will be Huge. And Jigsaw can be that Disc Maze because of the fact that there is something in Murdy's hand that is hidden and it's white and it's very similar to something of the Saw films. "Science Project" is 132 Pages and the Disc Maze is 72 Pages.
