I hear what you're saying, but that's not exactly a win for people who love dinosaurs and think they're an important element of the park.

I understand the decision making. That doesn't mean I have to tolerate it or rationalize it.
I like dinosaurs. This would make me endlessly sad. I love the ride, The Boneyard and shockingly, even Dino-Rama.

Much much much rather see a new land added above Asia then one get replaced.

I don't like it either, but what can I do? It's like me going to USF on the day they open F&F and trying to tell everyone in line "YOU'RE WASTING YOU'RE TIME" "IT'S GONNA SUCK". They aren't gonna listen and management certainly won't.

The general public is gonna eat all this stuff up and we can't do anything but sit back and watch it happen, unfortunately.

The problem is that there are logical places for these various IP-based attractions to go. Want Guardians in the parks? Great, here's Tomorrowland or Hollywood Studios. Want to bring in Indy? Welcome to Adventureland. It's not rocket science, but it almost feels like Disney goes out of its way to create thematic incongruity when there's literally no need for it.

They also touted at D23 that the expansions at Epcot and MK (Ratatouille and TRON) are very highly rated.

Theme means nothing anymore. It's all about inserting IPs into the park and getting rid of old, expensive rides with waning popularity.
Nick- we're not arguing IPs or their use of them. @belloq87 is correct. Tron is fine in Tomorrowland. So is Rat in Paris.
Will there be people who dislike it. Sure- but they're in the minority.
People are thrilled about them because they do two things:
1) Thematically fit
2) Add capacity with new attractions/lands instead of replacing a previous attraction.

What do you think the reaction would be if the rumor was the they blow out a few acres of the parking lot at DHS, removed (or even kept) the stunt show- and made a fully themed Indiana Jones area with 2 attractions (1 + stunt or 2 new)?
How about if they said Indiana Jones was going in the expansion spot just next to Jungle Cruise- a new expansion area with dining and an E-ticket?

That's the difference. Again- it thematically fits, and adds capacity- so there would be very few naysayers. Not that everything needs to be a new area- but it simply doesn't fit, thematically.

To be fair I don't care what "multiple sites" say if D23 told everyone anything, Marni is the only source on Disney that is worth listening too at the moment, and last I read it wasn't described as "imminent"

Maybe I didn't articulate well, but i'm completely on yours and @belloq87's side. I was just using TRON and Rat as things that they touted the GSAT scores, it had nothing to do with placement or anything.

DAK desperately needs more expansion, not overlays. I couldn't be more against this.

LOVE IJA, but at risk of repeating what almost everyone else is saying, it just doesn't fit within the established theme of the park. I mean, MK, DAK, EPCOT, and DHS are supposed to be THEME PARKS, RIGHT? Now, if they created a new storyline where Indy is searching for a new species or something, that would make sense.

"Snakes. Why did I have to be searching for a new species of snakes?"

They threw the intellectual edutainment vibe in the trash when they added SyFy Networkland.

What if the new IJA retheme isn't even the headliner of this new South America "land"? How about a mega E Ticket boat ride called:

"Indiana Jones and the Lost City of Coronado"

PS: If Creature Tech builds new dinos for JPRA, Dinosaur! is gonna look sad.

Huh. This is an interesting switch. I can't see how IJA fits into Dinoland. I wonder how much of the land will be rethemed as part of a switch. I could see the Dinoland USA (carnival portion) reminaing in tact, while the area around Dinosaur gets changed to something else.

I totally think this could happen. I don't think it's going to happen now, let alone announced this week, but Disney has proven me wrong before. Capacity doesn't mean crap to them anymore, just a "go, go, go" mentality.

That said -- I like Indy so whatev

There are multiple sources saying Dinosaur closing for Indy is now imminent.
On one hand, IJA is one of my favorite attractions in the world so a west coast version would be incredibly welcome. On another hand... at DAK? Really? I mean, I guess they DO want something else at DAK before the 50th, but why... Indy?

Perhaps it's just me, but isn't this the easiest thing they could do with Dinoland/Dinosaur?

I think if they are going to do it, it actually would be a great idea; as that it could blend into Disney Animal Kingdom having lands off of Africa and Asia. This would be a great step into that, doing somewhat of a Southern America with brand new animals and species all around along with major changes to that travesty to Primeval Whirl.

My take, but I am all welcome for it.

That'd probably be the best way to fit in Indy. Even if the ride itself doesn't fit in with the themes of DAK, a South America area definitely could, and Indy could somewhat work there. Heck, if we really wanna go IP crazy, they could do an Up family dark ride... but I digress.

So 25-30 years later, WDW is now going to have the Indiana Jones Adventure? Really!? Boooooooooooooooooooo! I want to remain a greedy SoCaler and demand that you fly out to my neck of the woods to see it. I have to do that to see your Expedition Everest, Tron Lightcycles, Spiderman, and better Mummy. Keep it the way it is. Can't the parks retain some exclusivity anymore?!

That also means Dinosaurs will be truly extinct at WDW. Not a fan of that decision.

If you guys can get a two-decade old ride, I demand we get Spiderman. Make it happen. It's only fair.*

*Yeah, yeah, yeah, Marvel contract restriction, I know. It's a nice thought though.

Let's also remember that if this does happen, the ride isn't the only thing that makes IJA special... the queue for that ride is wayyyyyy better than Dinosaur! The queue is an integral part of that attraction.

Oh, and getting rid of DINOSAUR! would not only get rid of more Dino's in WDW, but it would also get rid of Bill Nye (again!). If the ride stays though, the queue video needs an update though soon... when I look at Dr. Marsh all I can see is Claire Huxtable. So I guess hire someone to re-record the same exact script?

Honestly, I think they should actually redo that entire entrance from scratch if they do Indiana. Do almost a DL approach to it, and that I think that'd be a good idea.
