Halloween Horror Nights 27 General Discussion

Sucks, but it was pretty inevitable.

I'm amazed that they can't just find another location for the show...
I honestly think it's about far more than the venue. Developing the show has gotten far more complicated, and not because of politics or sensitivities or anything like that. The zeitgeist moves too fast now. A show written in June/July is outdated by September and ancient by October. Throw in the added complication of finding quality comedy writers...

Shows have a shelf life. Bill and Ted had one of the longest "runs" in theme park history. But the quality has gone downhill for reasons beyond Universal's control (mostly being "pop-culture" is predominantly memes and viral videos now). The last thing Universal wants is for a parody to become a farce. This is heinous, but it's the right decision. They can celebrate Bill and Ted one last year instead of it just not happening at all.

Technically this would be speculation for HHN28, but any ideas what might replace B&T? Whatever else might be said about the show, it did take hundreds of people off the streets for 30+ minutes, several times a night.

Well, everyone loved AoV last year more than B&T. Maybe add death drums just so they have 2 shows.

Ok, so all the melodrama that has been discussed, is just that it is the last year for B&T?
Looks like JungleSkip just wanted to get everyone worked up. Now he's dropping the word "bombshell" again about "another announcement". Did you know he "knows things"? Because he really wants you to know that he knows things, okay?

Sounds like it, the way some people were posting yesterday, you would think the forums were going to have a meltdown of epic proportions.
I think people on the internet have grown a bit over the years and/or Universal fans are more accepting of change. Bill and Ted is a pretty significant loss as it has been a staple of the event for most of its 27 years.

I feel like the other rumor that nobody is denying is that there is going to be some kind of expansion in that area of the park and that MIB is going bye bye, but part of me wonders if that rumor is just people making assumptions because of the B&T closure. I feel like Uni probably was too worried about B&T and wanted to do away with the show irregardless of future construction projects. I'm just happy that Bill and Ted and Men an Black will be there for my October trip this year :)
