HHN Hollywood General Discussion - 2017

Probably just driving through the backlot via golf cart. The transport from the Upper to Lower Lot doesn't make its way far enough to get a good look at the facade.

EDIT: Someone please say something I don't want to double post:lol:

Todays HHN updates:
(I think it's important to note that I am typing this while listening to "Breaking Free" from High School Musical.

Some more important updates is the Blumhouse has one door at the front. The other two have pencil writing next to them saying "window". In other words you don't exit from the facade....There is a main entrance with two windows on each side.

Also, there is a blue room in the middle of the maze (They could just be reusing paneling though) with another facade on the inside.

The Sinister facade has gotten it's base coat of paint. So that means...

BLUMHOUSE OF HORRORS HAS STARTED SCENIC FOLKS!

^I love you for this... and totally approve of it too. Although I hate you now because I want to watch and/or listen to HSM

In other news... anyone else notice the lack of maze promo art, similar to what was originally on the site before its current update, on the HHN facebook page? They even still have the AHS cover photo. I keep getting reminded of this every time I see a past maze announcement in my "on this day" section of facebook.

So I decided to do a tally...

This tweet was at the end of October and I tallied all of the Properties people requested and how many times they were actually requested. The Words that are Bold are actually Mazes or apart of a Maze. So please Enjoy!

Keep in mind these were the replies to Murdy below his tweet I'm sure there was more. But I thought it would be interesting to see the other requarter properties. And see how many times the properties that will be at the Event this year got requested.

Kind of off-topic/kind of on. But I visited the Neibolt house yesterday with my friends and it was super weak on scares. The scenic was amazing, though. And it sucks because the whole time I was just thinking about what scares they could use once the movie is out and how much HHN potential there is for next year. :eek:ops:

Edit: (weak scares aside it was a LOT of fun watching other people react to the few scares that WERE there. I jumped more from my friends jumping/screaming than anything.)

It did look weak on scares from the Youtube video but the facade looked legit.

None of the mazes are finished. Still 100s of hours left on each maze (In audio balancing and lighting). That gets even ME stressed just thinking about it. Then on top of that they still have to do lighting for all of the scare zones. They're definitely cutting it closer than they ever have this year.

EDIT: If I don't see pumpkins in trees and funny skeletons placed around our "Hell-O-Ween" scare zone I'm going to be mad.

Who the hell thought "The Blob" would be a good maze to see at HHN?!

Uhhhhh ME! I've done a treatment of it and it would be pretty amazing, actually. Mostly it would be blob victims, with maybe one or two actual puppeteered blobs, but there's a lot of settings, characters, and good scares that would work. It'd be just as good as MBV, TITE, Clownz, ACGTH, or Black Sabbath at least.....
I literally forget Black Sabbath even happened all the time. Wow does that maze not hold up lol

But that's happened before in past several years. I remember seeing tweets and hearing about how mazes, scare zone, and Terror Tram stuff were still being worked on or assembled during the week of opening night. In 2015, Murdy tweeted about how several mazes were still receiving additions inside and to the facades on Thursday, the day after Employee Preview Night (e.g. Michael Cera impaled on a street light was barely being set up, some stuff in the Crimson Peak graveyard "facade").
