Too much? Out of the 30 years at Orlando's event, he's ONLY had one house (2009), one SZ (2018), & one photo-op (2021)

If you want to get even more technical, him & Tiffany were featured at the event for "Bride of Chucky" promo hype back in 1998

Over in Hollywood, he was an established staple of the event during the early years. He's iconic.
Yeah I have absolutely no idea where this “overused” argument is stemming from. This is in no way a purge, and Al king dead, or even Halloween situation.

Even if it was feasible, what would be the point of adding an IP house at this point? The ads are filmed. the merch is manufactured. Any IP added now can't really be highlighted, so it's going to add little to the bottom line. Most of the people who would hear about it are die-hards who are going anyway. The goal now is making sure there's a 10th house to eat up crowds.

Really the only thing you can do is 1) in park advertising 2) logo/VO in the commercial.

CHUCKY would be an easy aspect, as he's been part of the merchandise rollouts in general since..2018? Even with no presence inside of the events, there's a lot you can pull from with Curse/Cult, and S1 alone. Especially as it has characters like Nica and Tiff, who could balance out the presence of Chucky.

Exactly. The last time Chucky had a solo house was 19. Scenes from any or all of those would be easy.

For a while, they were taking a previous year’s scare zone and making a house. So could that be an option? Taking out 30 Years 30 Fears and Gorewood Forest which are not going to happen, that leaves us with:

Crypt TV - They seemed to use a lot of the popular stories last year. But maybe?

Seek and Destroy - I’d love a S&D destroy house to know some backstory of the Controller and I think this could make for a great house.

Lights Camera Hacktion - Probably not likely, but wouldn’t mind another Eddie appearance.

The last time Chucky has had a direct presence was 2017 with Titans of Terror Tram and Chucky's Revenge for 2018 at Orlando (Thanks for clarifying that, @HHN Maddux!)

Hollywood has never had a legitimate house. The only time they've tried is 2009's with the HoH Overlay. Genuinely wonder if this year might be the chance for Hollywood, if they try to keep to be with just something in-house (be that Us or CHUCKY), but that would probably be better discussed elsewhere.

*Revenge of Chucky was 2018.

Any theories on why Chucky isn't part of the event? He didn't even make one spec map either.

This lineup really could have used his Iconic presence. Especially with a new show that I thought was well received (and for a Comcast channel / streaming).

Chucky sells but they won't always rely on Chucky all the time, last year was just a marketing ploy for the show, although he could definitely make people feel like the likelihood of Chucky appearing this year in both coasts also due to the fact Don Mancini was up for it, it definitely created some buzz but right now Universal has more they want to do in terms of ips instead of reusing Chucky, not saying he won't return one year, he will but I wouldn't say anytime soon, although merchandising is a different story.

Just do a Chucky house, it's time for a new one.
I’m really shocked that that wasn’t planned for this year with the show which is returning for a second season this fall and it’s a Universal property and that photo op they did last year. If they were able to whip that together as a replacement for Evil Dead, I’d be really happy and excited with that. Love Chucky and we’ve had him in a house just once at least I think.
The Chucky show (or films for that matter) wouldn’t require very elaborate sets but idk how long making Chucky himself would take assuming he would be puppets.
Chucky is very simple but I don’t think they wanna overuse him unless just using for merchandise opportunities, I could see the show becoming a house in the future but also he could just as well be Hollywood exclusive in the future or joint.
I would be pretty gutted if they went for a chucky house, I kinda feel like he has been used too much at HHN, whether as a scare zone or a house- its maybe just me though.

Fingers crossed for another standout horror IP, not holding my hopes too high by the sounds of it

all i know for sure is that the creator of chucky really really really wanted chucky at HHN when the show came out. i saw an interview about the chucky show and i specifically remember him saying how much he wanted chucky at HHN. ( but i dont know if he just meant hhn hollywood)
i will try to find it, but i remember that after i watched the show i read a lot of articles, and in one of them, he literally says he really wants chucky for HHN (it almost sounded like it was universal saying "no" for now)
i bring this up because when the chucky show came out, he sounded like he was all in for a chucky hhn house.... ill try to find this.

I think the reason they haven’t done a Chucky house since 09 is because the IP is a slasher IP with 2-foot tall slasher.

Casting the 09 house was a major challenge. All of the Chuckys were extremely short performers (mostly women) that were taller than the actual Chucky but not so tall they were legitimately scary. From my understanding, there were a number of instances were performers were assaulted because they were too short to be intimidating.

Now, the immediate question is “what about puppets.” The puppets in AWIL were terrifying. Those puppets were also massive, ferocious looking, and fast. The problem with a Chucky puppet is that it, too, is only 2 foot tall and not really intimidating. If you look at the puppets used in Puppet Theater last year, they were distractions. The gnome wasn’t a scare. Basically, an oversized Chucky isn’t realistic or scary, and a puppet-sized Chucky is even less scary.

That means that, an effective Child’s Play house is either a book report-style house with vignettes (that most fans seem to hate), or an original toy factory house that barely includes Chucky. If the fans don’t like the first option, there’s no sense in doing it. And if the second option barely features Chucky, why pay for the IP?

Is it likely that the Evil dead house was going to be the "main house" for selling the event?

Pardon my ignorance but the maze near the front of the park (where the stage is) usually has the biggest draw and is the longest line- has that house been announced yet?

The Weeknd is this year’s headliner.

The house at the front of the park always has the longest line because its at the front of the park. Location is related to what they need for the house—not popularity.

One thing that might work in the show’s favor should they ever decide to do it is that it has a lot of comedy and it would almost certainly be the comedy house for the year so Chucky doesn’t even necessarily need to be all that intimidating in that instance.

I don't think many would be a fan of this idea, since it was just at the event. But I had a thought. So Hollywood when it lost an IP, just copied something already coming to Orlando and got Blum. What if Orlando does the same and just replaces Evil Dead with Killer Klowns, which is already going to Hollywood? Seems like the rights issue would be fairly easy. And they should already have props for it.
My dream replacement would be a sequel, IP, and original all rolled up into one.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space in 3D.

That was originally going to be the title of the scrapped sequel and then they had the TV show coming and now are back to square one. So it would be an original the sense that it's not a recreation of an existing film or TV series. I'm sure the owners of the IP would be quick and easy to sign a contract same with the music composer.

Already have the costumes and a 3D house with lots of monochromatic backgrounds with selected spots of neon paint is a relatively cheap and quick build.

Doesn't look like we have a comedy house this year so it would fill in that gap nicely.

Signed up just to +1 KKFOS for Orlando.

I know, I know. We got them as a scarezone and a house already, but man, I am VERY jealous that Hollywood is (supposedly) getting a SEQUEL HOUSE this year. If I could afford it I would fly out in a heartbeat.

When I heard Evil Dead was scrapped I was a bit excited, not going to lie. The chances of Klowns returning this late in the year is slim to none, but there's still a small chance.

In terms of merch/ads/etc, I think it wouldn't be too hard to reuse what they've done for Hollywood, assuming that the rumors are true.

Finally someone says a great reason why chucky shouldn't be a house! Absolutely agree with this as who's going to be afraid of a 2 foot high doll. Unless it was nothing but jump scares from puppets in your face a house would not work at all

I think a house similar to the Revenge of Chucky zone would actually work. Chucky as the mastermind behind all the toys coming to life and popping out here and there as a puppet to deliver one-liners would be solid I think.

Like someone else said, it would likely be a comedy house, so it doesn't necessarily need to be scary.

Not usually a fan of Chucky, but this idea sounds really cool.

Considering how much they just throw Chucky onto merch at will, it would be nice for him to actually get a house again

He's allegedly a big merch pusher, so I get it, but still
