    USF Prop Shop Update Thread

On a somewhat related note, does anyone know what became of defunct ride memorabilia prior to this store being around? As a devotee of the “Ride the Movies” era, I always wonder if Hanna-Barbera and Hitchcock stuff was just unceremoniously junked.

Universal's Epic Universe Wish List & Speculation

I’ve been banging the drum for a Scooby dark ride basically since the original Hanna-Barbera ride closed years ago. I agree with those saying that it’s very much an evergreen property and I believe that it goes without saying that a good ride created by Universal would be leaps and bounds...

Universal's Epic Universe Wish List & Speculation

They’re very different- any thoughts of Mr. Toad that linger around are only because of the ride, whereas BTTF is one of the most famous film franchises of all time. The ride is just a side note in its history.

Universal's Epic Universe Wish List & Speculation

I’m honestly not sure, but you might be right. If that is the case, it’s a direction that I wouldn’t agree with but they’re obviously doing alright on their current track.

Universal's Epic Universe Wish List & Speculation

I view the timeline issues as irrelevant- you wouldn’t have to emphasize those dates and that’s hardly the most significant suspension of disbelief that you’re faced with in a theme park. Casablanca is about WWII. Is that not a timeless film? Strong films and literature are often tied to...

Universal's Epic Universe Wish List & Speculation

For me personally, hoping for another BTTF ride has very little to do with nostalgia- I wasn’t even born when the first films were being released- and more with wanting Universal to feature more timeless properties in their parks. I think that they’ve been very hit or miss with their IP...

Universal's Epic Universe Wish List & Speculation

I appreciate the classic horror stuff even though it’s not necessarily my thing. Considering how important the old monster films were to Universal’s overall legacy and how recognizable all of the characters still are, I think that they’re definitely deserving of a substantial presence in the...

    Universal Studios Florida's 30th Anniversary (2020)

I thought that the new nighttime lagoon show should’ve included Jaws and BTTF anyway, but a big anniversary would be a great excuse to add brief sections of them. Those films had such iconic imagery and music that suits that sort of show perfectly. It seems like something that would be a...

Universal's Epic Universe Wish List & Speculation

The art looks great, if not a bit more vague than I would’ve expected. I love the idea of original concepts having a presence, but I’d imagine that those rides will have less margin for error. It’ll be interesting to see how they can generate interest for them. On the other side of the coin...

    Universal's New Park/Site B Blue Sky Thread

I think The Mummy is just about perfect as is. Anything other than periodic tweaks or incremental upgrades seems unnecessary. To me, this is really a case of if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

    Universal's New Park/Site B Blue Sky Thread

The monster world is probably the land that I’m most excited about aside from Nintendo and Scooby-Doo being included would put it completely over the top for me. Sounds amazing.

    Universal's New Park/Site B Blue Sky Thread

While Universal has definitely always been movie-centric, I think the emphasis was more broadly on the entertainment industry as a whole in the early days. Things like Murder, She Wrote, Hanna-Barbera, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Lucy, Nickelodeon, and I’m sure others that I’m forgetting, all had a...

T2:3D - Battle Across Time Memorial Thread

The Murder, She Wrote show was gone by the time I got to Universal for the first time but my friends who saw it always had positive reviews. I’m a big Angela Lansbury fan, so I’m always a bit bummed that I missed it. I saw the original Hitchcock show two or three times and thought that it was...

Universal Orlando Resort Expansion News (Part 2)

My friend told me about that being there years ago but I don’t think I could find any photos of it. It sounded cool, but I guess it didn’t last long?

The Future of Lost Continent (Poseidon Fury closing May 9)

They’re classics. I’m also a huge Hanna-Barbara fan so between that old ride at Studios and Toon Lagoon when it first opened, I had all my bases covered. I actually didn’t know how good I had it at the time ha.

The Future of Lost Continent (Poseidon Fury closing May 9)

I’m on the lookout for him every time I’m at the parks. I hope I run into him at some point.

The Future of Lost Continent (Poseidon Fury closing May 9)

I really agree- I’m a huge fan of the original Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons and I can never understand how there’s not a single piece of merchandise related to those characters available for sale. It seems to put the land at a disadvantage in terms of generating interest among casual guests...

What to "add" to Islands of Adventure

The Frostbite Falls area could be cool- I’d love to see a bigger Rocky and Bullwinkle presence.

    MIB: Alien Attack Revamp?

I could see that being an issue with the original ride, but I don’t think it was the kind of thing that would limit the entire franchise. There’s already a pretty high suspension of disbelief the minute you enter the gates of any theme park- the specific Back to the Future dates would actually...

    MIB: Alien Attack Revamp?

To me, Back to the Future is the most glaring example of Universal not doing enough to keep their classic properties as focal points in the parks. I’m not one of those people who thinks that the old stuff at USF was all better then what came later, but that’s one of those rare franchises with...
