Amy Pascal leaves Sony for Universal Pictures

Amy Pascal has exited Sony Pictures, and has now formally entered into a deal with Universal Pictures.

This comes as part of the end of the four year pact between Pascal Pictures & Sony Pictures.

She will still be working with Sony's film and television projects however, including the Phil Lord/Chris Miller Spider-Man projects being in development at Sony as of the moment.

Not necessarily good based on the deadline article which had more information as she isn't coming in with any projects on her slate that Universal can jump aboard and based on her Sony slate, none of them are real blockbusters outside Spider-Man series. Maybe with Universal's funds she will do better but I don't think she is that great a producer.

I can't help but feel this is part of Universal trying to bulk up Universal Content Group to largely increase their library before the new service drops.

However at the same time, they are going to need more director/writers combinations than producers.

Good for Sony. She did enough damage after scrapping Spider-man 4 and the Popeye animated film, throwing a sandwich at Kevin Feige and yelling at him to "get the f#$% out", not letting Marvel use the symbiotes, and for pushing Ghostbusters 2016 and the Emoji Movie.

I think you are confusing her productions vs her exec. She isn't going to be an exec. She is going to be a producer. As a producer she only had two critical flops (Girl with the dragon tat and Venom) but all but one film broke even.
