Maybe I'm remembering it wrong, but I feel like Bambi really acts like a different kind of Disney film from Beauty, Lion King, Dumbo, Lilo and Stitch. It feels more slowburn, atmospheric, more like you're just enjoying the pretty animation and nature than going through an intricate plot and character development. Would a fake documentary Lion King 2019-esque Bambi film really capture audiences? Do modern audiences have nostalgia for Bambi? It's not as big as Snow White or Dumbo, but also not part of the 20-30 year cycle like the Rennaisance films or Stitch.
