Or more likely Genco olive oil is available in Chicago. Showing the power/reach of the Corleone family.

But I believe the storefront facade from the Godfather is on that street also, unless my memory is wrong.

And The Blues Brothers (a Chicago icon) perform behind a bar that is canonically in NYC. You have to squint sometimes in theme parks. It's vibes, not The Holy Land Experience.

Yes. I completely agree with you. Universal calls it New York but it's set up to mimic an outdoor soundstage that could be used for a movie set depicting St. Louis, Detroit, or hundreds of other downtowns. Example: Pittsburgh, with its numerous old ethnic neighborhoods' housing stock,
, is often used by the film industry to depict other city's past in various movies and tv shows. It's all 'make believe' and/or believe what you want.

Not sure how us proud Chicagoans are supposed to feel about the best rep for the city being hidden in a New York area, but that's really cool! I need to look down and sprinkle some celery salt on the manhole cover next time I'm there.

Ok I have an idea: Louie’s becomes a pizzas for America place. NY, Chicago, Detroit, etc.

This is so simple yet brilliant at same time. It’s barely in NY too so could easily be any type of theme.

This ties back in to something I've been thinking about with the coaster, though. I'd heard someone complain a car-themed ride was a bad fit for New York, where so few people drive. But I feel like that area isn't literally themed to New York City. It's themed to a backlot, and the fact that it morphs into Chicago in one area is a great illustration of that.

So if the theme of the F&F coasters is really "celebrating stunts and stunt people" like they said about Hollywood Drift, it'll fit just fine.

It could certainly fit in this interpretation, but New York has also been the site of some of cinema's greatest car chases (THE FRENCH CONNECTION, THE SEVEN-UPS), so I think the story of the ride could be located in NYC without any issues, too.

I’m game for a BTTF overlay. My only concern is that a BTTF ride kind of insists on us being in the DeLoreon, but I would much rather have this than no BTTF ride at all.

Like others have said, adding practical elements everywhere would be great. I think it would be great to have an AA Doc and Marty in the preshow scene and then the CGI Doc, Marty, and maybe Biff in the musion scene.

Having practical Kuka effects in the speed tunnel scene would really make this stand out. I think I heard back in 2014 before Supercharged opened at USH they wanted to have cars on each side of the tram and a helicopter suspended on a Kuka arm. I think that was cut for budgetary reasons.

If they really want to hide the practical effects in the 360 room, they can have some walls that fold up with a strobe and fog blast as a “grand reveal” nit unlike the preshow for Cosmic Rewind and the finale for Poseidon. Speaking of which, now that Poseidon is gone, it would be a great way to bring that effect back.

Although this ain’t the preferred setup for a BTTF ride, I think it would be a good overlay, but more so for Hollywood.

EDIT: Feeding off my hyper fixation, if they want to take it a step further, project onto the ground and the walls where the air and wind are at showing the ground rushing past us to really sell the speed tunnel. I don’t expect them to do that but it would be great to sell the illusion in every way possible. The infrastructure is there, so maximize it!
