ORLANDO, Fla. - At least three people were taken to the hospital as a result of a gas valve leak at Universal Orlando on Wednesday, according to Orange County fire officials.
Fire officials said the gas leak was reported at the Captain America Diner in the Islands of Adventure park at around 3:30 p.m.
Fire officials said leaked Freon into the kitchen area made three of the workers sick, requiring them to be hospitalized. They have all since been treated and released, according to officials with Universal. Six more workers were treated on the scene and the diner will be closed throughout the day.
Crews shut off the gas valve in the back of the park. No other park patrons were affected, according to fire crews.
