It's crazy that RRR is closing relatively soon and we don't have firm details on what's replacing it. I feel like usually around this time we'd have a full simulated ride through (half joking).

For Disney, yes, but Universal tends to keep their cards close to their chest. We may not hear anything until a while after it closes.

Universal is following the same playbook as they did for Hagrids, DreamWorks, VelociCoaster, etc.. All they announced was that a new experience is in the works.

Wouldn't surprise me to see the Vin Diesel animatronic installed before they officially announce it. (jk)

Maybe they'll extend the track and route it through a burning F&F attraction building as the Family's bad acting gets consumed by fire. Potentially a Great, and satisfying, effect. ;) :lmao:

Although with Epic coming online and to keep investors happy, maybe they will make an exception and announce part of the slate for USF and IOA additions post EU.

If they see less turnout than expected for Epic (aka no significant jump in hotel occupancy or increase in per capita) they'll probably show their cards a bit earlier. Confident that Universal has plans, but as of now they aren't as concrete (to the public) as Disney's plans are.

Obviously, Epic is the reason why we're not hearing anything at all (understandably). It'll be interesting to see how this shapes up over time.

FYI - let me know if something is missing.

Great chart-- but I would move all your Disney projects back a year (at least) Monsters Inc for 2028, CARS 2029, and Villains for 2030. They'll be lucky if they hit their goal for Tropical Americas for 2027

What is this based on ???

The other projects I actually somewhat agree on but what would cause them to be behind on this besides the usual “Disney is slow” reasoning.

I'd agree with you 2 years ago, but Disney is finally showing signs of life. Muppet*Vision closing this year tells me we can see a realistic 2.5 year build for Monsters, Inc... putting it somewhere in late 2027.

People forget that Tiana's retheme was only 1.5 years... so Dinosaur to Indiana Jones falls under that reasonable timeframe. Latest Dinosaur can close (assuming a deadline of mid-summer for Tropical Americas) is early Jan of next year... which seems to be the plan.

Cars/Villains I can see pushed back a year, but Disney did say those projects are the first 5 years of their 10 year plan.

Rider: "So, I kept hearing that they might build a new coaster in Jurassic Park. When do you think that UNI will announce it?

To clarify, I wasn't saying I'm surprised that Universal hasn't released an official statement. I'm saying I'm surprised we haven't gotten leaks. Looking back on Epic, Velocicoaster, and Hagrids, we've had essentially entire blueprints and spoilers before they've broken ground (I'm exaggerating). But for this, it's still a mystery.

The fact that the Universal Kids & Vegas projects (with lots of 3rd party interaction) announcement seemingly came out of nowhere indicates how well Universal has become on controlling stuff.

The UK project was well hidden until the point they made it clear that they made a land acquisition on one of their financial reports.

Didn't the UK park have leaked concept art? It's assumed that concept art doesn't represent the final product, but still. Also I thought we knew Universal was up to something in the UK before they made an announcement, did we not? And staying in the UK, the park hasn't even broken ground, so there are years before we can safely say they kept things under wraps.

Also if we're including parks outside of Orlando, the F&F ride at Hollywood has had a mountain of leaks.

The newest attraction in Orlando, Villiancon, had tons of leaks too. So I'm not really seeing a trend in them being any more careful than they have in the past.

It seemed like it was AI generated, but purposefully vague and hazy official concept art and hallucinated AI art are almost indistinguishable at 360p.

That piece of art (whether real or not) came out after the Q3 earning report mentioned the land acquisition.

Not saying we won't have the occasional leak or two... but they've improved. Even HHN has improved to an extent.

I'd say even more than "to an extent" - the HHN spec thread is absolutely dead right now because no one knows anything lol

This is neat because it's rare to get a completely new building number for this park. Usually new stuff just adopts the old ride's number, even if they build a new structure. But this is new from scratch.
