But about the night-time Rockit experience.... bear with me if this has already been discussed.... I had heard a long time ago that the intention with Rockit was to make it possible to open the ride to CityWalk after park hours, so CityWalk patrons could ride for a charge at night. And it seems the Blue Man entrance walkway would work perfectly for this..... Does anyone know if this is happening?

If it happens it won't happen for a few years. Right now they are trying to get people in to the parks to ride it, having a City Walk entrance would kind of make that irrelevant.

If the Mummy line has taught us anything they will. Especially with this being a new ride, people will wait for it. Anyone who went to HHN at IOA can vouch people will wait for coasters at HHN just because it's night time.

Disagree. The two are very different ride experiences.

So today I had my first bad experience on Rockit. Now before I go into the details of what transpired, I just want to say that I'm pretty sure that the chances of this all happening again is rare. Anywho...

So one of my major gripes was when we were in line. The wait time was posted at 60 minutes, which was fine, but there was a point where we didn't move for 20 minutes. Not one train passed for that 20 minutes, nor did any announcements about a "delay". After the 20 minutes though, everything was back to normal. So when we finally get to board the train, we were essentially rushed on. No problem if you didn't have to choose a song. Before my girlfriend and I had our butts in the chair, the 2 team members were already pushing the restraint down and the train was already moving before we even realized what happened. So we both were treated to Crystal Method, as per "Rockit's choosing". Not that I have anything against Crystal Method, but it's just not the type of music I wanted to listen to after waiting 60 minutes with what I wanted to choose in mind. So the ride is off, and we get the "bad" car. Man it is rough. I'm talking about crazy vibrations right off the bat. It was very jarry, and very uncomfortable. At that point, my mindset was "OK, I just waited 60 minutes to ride a very uncomfortable ride to the song that wasn't my choosing. I wanna just bail and enjoy the rest of my day." So as we head on down the exit, we just wanted to take a quick glance at our on-ride photo. We looked like we were in pain.... As my girlfriend is trying to talk to me, this team member starts yelling in my ear about "making my video". I politely acknowledge her with an "OK" nod, and go back to trying to hear what my girlfriend has to say. However, the team member decides to push the video some more. "Sir! Sir! You can make your video." I know it's their job to try to push the merch, but it was fairly obvious that I was trying to carry a conversation with my girlfriend. The last thing I need after an already bad ride experience is a pushy employee trying to get me to buy something....especially since it wasn't even the song of my choice . Like I said, the likelihood of this happening again is very slim, but still a very bad experience to be had.

Ouch, that sucks, man. Apparently, a lot of people have been giving reviews of this same train with it being "rough." What I have a hard time understanding is why you guys were rushed on to the ride. That should never have happened. :( Sorry to hear you guys had a bad experience with Rockit.

The third-party group has reminded me of fast-moving zombies on more than one occasion. They swarm! :look:

That sucks Brian, sorry to hear about all that! We are going to go down labor day and try to be there right at 9am to ride. I just don't have enough patience to wait more than 45 minutes for anything, then throw in a fidgety kid and yeah, no. So we keep hearing about one train that is super rough and the rest are all smooth??? Uh, hey Universal, take the rough train off and fix it already dummies!

If it was that simple they would have done it.

That makes me wonder if the 'rough trains' was one of the main problems that held the ride back, and they decided, well, good enough for now - let 'em ride?

Great, so now it's like roulette when you ride. Will you get the smooth train or the back-breaker?

And about access from CityWalk, have any of you seen the Blue Man/Rockit sign at the walkway entrance to Blue Man, near Hard Rock? That sign alone makes me assume that at some point in the not-too-distant-future that it will be accessible, but for what price??

Well there are billboard ads that say "Free with an annual pass" so maybe that's a hint for what it would cost the passholders.

I would think maybe 10 bucks.

Anyone else think it's a horrible idea to have people coming fresh out of places like Margaritaville and putting them on a roller coaster?

No worse than putting them on a roller coaster during, say, HHN.

You know, I can't really say too much about it because I haven't ridden or even seen the thing yet, but what is going on? There have been numerous reports of a "rough train". Hello!? Somebody fix it!! I know that things happen when you've just opened a ride, but this is 110% inexcusable. Not to mention that, because they're not using the moving load platform, this thing has become a capacity nightmare, even though it was supposed to be something of a capacity masterpiece (go with me on that one). And because of this, they're not offering Express on a ride that is officially open. Then there's the rumor that the cameras aren't all working, which isn't a big deal, but one that I wonder if Universal will make a strong effort to fix.

You see, I'm going in the first weekend of October for HHN and staying at the Portofino Bay Hotel. Now the primary reason that I stay on-site is for the Express perk (and of course, the hotels are awesome). So first off, I'm frustrated because Express may not be available on this awesome new ride when I go. Then I have to worry about getting the "rough" train, my music not working, or waiting for six hours to ride a two minute ride (obvious exaggeration). I had to sound like a whiny... person, but does anyone else feel this way?

Also, there were a lot of reports of peoples music not working early on. Is that still happening a lot?

I just hope that if I do decide to go to HHN which would probably be October 9th and invest $75 on an Express Pass, it better include Rockit.

Funny thing about the "rough train"...... when Lori and I rode for the first time Monday, she said it was smooth and I thought it was rough. We watched a few seconds of the video, and I looked like I was in pure pain (but it was still fun!). So I guess it kind of depends on the individual?

She thinks I'm just "too old"....... I get no respect :P

*siiiiigh* It's all being addressed. No estimates on when all will be a-okay, but -- and I know people on the boards hate to hear this -- patience.
