I was so skeptical, but this trailer sold me! Don't know how they will work in a whole movie centered around characters that speak gibberish, but hey...Wall-E did it pretty well!

We saw this on Friday night and really enjoyed it. I will say that this was my least favorite of the three movies with the minions as the other movies did build better characters w/ Gru and the daughters, but I knew going in that this one was more about the Minions.

I did start laughing during the Universal opening and had a few decent laughs throughout. I enjoyed the music in the film, but was puzzled at the use of Eddie Van Halen playing Eruption (for a movie taken place in '68)...maybe they couldn't get the rights to any Hendrix?

But my family really enjoyed it (as I did), guess I'm just missing some of the more human character development...but I am sure Universal did well with this over the weekend...and since the kids seem to love minions, I'm sure the merchandise will continue to do well.

I liked the movie, a lot. I'm disappointed to see it getting mostly poor reviews and hope this isn't the start of the fall of the Despicable Me franchise.

Very few people care what critics/reviewers think. People vote with their money. The Minions are a resounding success.

I can't wait for DM 3. I'll pass on Minions 2 however.

Good movie, with a plug for Universal Studios at the end. I would give it a B.

Sure, but nobody doubted that the movie would make money. I'm not saying the franchise is dead because of it, but fatigue could begin setting in soon. Animated franchises very rarely maintain popularity, you got to wonder if DM3 could be the final film. Which I'm not against as long as they send it out in proper fashion.

Story: Poor

Humor: It was funny. Only Paid £4 per person to see it so not bad for a rainy day film!

Yes, your points are well taken. Humor is really hard to create in a movie, but they did a good job on that. Story is probably more important to critics than movie goers. The Minions are loveable & funny, that's a winning combination that should last for a number of years. They're a little different than the typical animation film since they're basically humor based and I think they'll be fine. Humor is an international interest and on that factor alone I think they'll (both DM & the Minions) be around for a good while, on both the national & international market.

It was just a commercial after the movie was over saying see the minons at Universal Studios resort. I had seen the small commercial before on TV. But it was nice hook for those that may not know there is actually a DM ride.

I was told that work on Minions2 had already started.
I thought it was ok... it was more kiddy than DM 1 and 2 are.. I also watched it in a theatre full of bell ends so that definitely didn't help.
