i said that months ago lolHear me out: Halloween Nightmare Fuel hosted by Bill and Ted.
This is definitely the route they need to take. I was starting to get tired of (basically) the same show happening every year. Was it impressive? Yes. Are the performers talented? Absolutely! But I need something else to really pull me in. Having a different story is going to do that, for me at least. They have confirmed from today's podcast that going forward, Nightmare Fuel will be more an episodic anthology. The same concept you expect now from NF, but different stories.
The show was great, as always. The circus theming makes this feel much more distinct and like its own thing.
My only disappointment is it feels like they kinda wasted the potential of the story. Especially with the ending revelation, it doesn't really feel like our hero is aware that he's in a loop, if this is the exact same choice he's made every time to try and save her. Unless it's a Deathloop situation, where he's aware that he's in a loop, but can't quite recall the details of each cycle?
I heard an explosion at the end again. I don’t see it yet but heard that when walking by.It’s my annual post where I ask if there’s any pyrotechnics/explosions and when I should prep myself for them.
Thanks in advance!
Completely different story. Even the vibe (while still sexy dancing) feels different with the circus aesthetic, they did a great job making it feel very distinct from the past iterations. So I'm guessing since this year is an entirely different story, there aren't any reused songs from that the last 3ys.
And do we still get The Black Parade right before the show starts?
Two at the end, one for the spike trick, and of course an explosion for the ending of the show. It’s my annual post where I ask if there’s any pyrotechnics/explosions and when I should prep myself for them.

I did the same thing as you! I thought last year's show was the best of the 3 iterations, even with it using a lot of the same elements as the first two years. I still listen to the soundtrack from it from time to time.So I was trying to wait for when I go to HHN next week to watch this show in person, but I caved and watched someone's recording on YouTube.
I'm still trying to reserve judgement until I see it in person, but I'm not quite sure how I feel about this years show. It's definitely different, but I wouldn't say it's better than the last 3 shows. As a big fan of the last 3 Nightmare Fuel shows, I'm kinda disappointed with Nocturnal Circus. Maybe it just has to grow on me?

Watched Nocturnal Circus this morning via YouTube and it felt a little..slower? Then went on with my day, and thought to myself, I must've missed some stuff. So I took another watch just now, and it grew on me.
The acts during 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' and 'Drop Dead Cynical' were both pretty solid, but I think the one that's gonna be a crowd favorite will be 'Letal Woman'. The lap dance and high heels felt like this years version of the leash walkout from the original 3 shows. Gonna be a lot of hootin' and hollerin'
Excited to see how this show grows, and hopefully it's as awesome in-person as the internet has been claiming it to be!

I agree. Like have actual entertainment performers warm up the crowd. And I'll be the Scrooge who says it, the crowd attendants trying to pump the audience up during MCR have become so over-the-top as to be cheesy. The older gentleman at BJ's Graveyard Review who did it (RIP) made it feel organic, but this is too forced.
Nothing was worse than that one security guard in yellow last year. I was embarrassed for her.And I'll be the Scrooge who says it, the crowd attendants trying to pump the audience up during MCR have become so over-the-top as to be cheesy. the show is getting a little old. ( or stale?) but I realized that there's no much they can change. outside of outfits and settingNo one advocated for a change to the storyline more than me, and while I appreciated the costumes and sets, missing some X factor. The "specialty" performers didn't feel as strong, and the magic tricks feel relegated to the background rather than the focus of their scenes, which lessens their impact. Still a fine show but probably the weakest of the four they've done.
