From the Press Statement

upon opening, Thrill Glider will set a collection of records, including:
  • World's First Thrillglider
  • World's First Multi-Launch Thrillglider
  • World's Longest Thrillglider – 3,380 feet, which is more than half a mile
  • World's Fastest Thrillglider – 50 mph
  • World's Tallest Thrillglider – 107 feet
  • Most Inversions on a Thrillglider – 5

Thrill Glider will immerse visitors in the world of QuantumPulse Propulsion Systems, a visionary technology company led by inventor and entrepreneur Rebecca Silva. The journey begins long before takeoff in "The Futurist Pavilion," a sleek showcase facility filled with dynamic displays, holographic presentations and scientific exhibits detailing the company's discovery of PSR B417, a powerful new energy source with the potential to transform tomorrow. As riders make their way through the queue, they catch glimpses of towering hexagonal collectors embedded into the hillside, harvesting energy from distant pulsars in space. Upon entering the load station, illuminated blue energy lines, aerodynamic architecture and pulsing atmospheric audio build anticipation as riders prepare to board QuantumPulse's latest breakthrough. Once launched, the power of PSR B417 will be felt firsthand as the vehicles soar above the landscape through sweeping maneuvers, sudden dives and weightless moments that simulate piloting a high-speed hovercycle powered by tomorrow's technology. Blending engaging storytelling, futuristic design and advanced coaster technology, Thrill Glider delivers a one-of-a-kind adventure that transports guests into an optimistic vision of the future.

"Thrill Glider is more than a new attraction. It is the latest milestone in Six Flags Magic Mountain's renaissance and a reflection of the park's enduring role as an industry innovator," said Brian Oerding, park president of Six Flags Magic Mountain. "With a decades-long reputation for introducing record-breaking attractions and genre-defining rides, Magic Mountain is uniquely positioned to pioneer an entirely new coaster category and bring Thrill Glider to life."

A Six Flags coaster with actual theming? Could this be a glimpse into future projects? Will the queue be properly maintained

I hope this ride is a beauty at night! Imagine the potential with the on ride lights, portals, and queue. Could be our Six Flags version of Stardust Racers if they truly go for it.

I like this...alot. Landscaping around the ride is top tier and 48 inch height requirement is fantastic!

I will say if ever a ride needed a "name the coaster" contest, it would be this one.

But yeah this looks like a winner.

Just hoping this sort of things makes its way to the other locations too. Would be nice to have a park local to me that isn't just rides painted to vaguely resemble DC Characters

Couple other quick observations.

1) The ride is blocked for (3) trains. I wonder why they went with 2. This is definitely going to draw major lines, similar to Alpen Fury.

2) The ride had two other working names. Cyber Cycle and Solar Flare, but settled on Thrill Glider so that it's always known as the original prototype.

3) Ninja is definitely not making it out of 2027 lol

I was thinking the same. Also was thinking of applications by Disney and Universal. It would be fun if this was the actual door coaster (I know, it isn't) but it could also be a great Star Wars biker scout coaster. Universal could create a BTTF coaster with it and theme the ride vehicles to hoverboards. It could be a really fun ride style.

Not going to spoil anything

But take those surveys you get for the park

Its they have some interesting ideas....of course none of them have to come to the park but what they talked about all sounds good on paper, so if you want an inside look at what could be coming to knotts/MM go do those surveys

Is it weird that I actually really like the name? It reminds me a lot of AIR from Alton Towers (or FLY from Phantasaland); how that was used for the sake of that coaster because of the very prototype nature.

Got one a while ago that seemed to gauge my interest in MM expanding beyond roller coasters and adding dark rides (not outright but I could kinda tell since they kept asking my interest in "types of rides"). I'd love for them to do that, but the Justice League ride is in such poor shape it scares me thinking if they tried a more ambitious idea.

Then I got one yesterday that just asked me what careers the people in my household work in. They're definitely up to something

I commented both parks need more shade and more variety of rides

I know many here just want more coaster but....we have like 30ish coasters between the two parks....and like 3 dark rides? I would like some rides that are just fun for everyone and have themeing

Like USH and Disneyland show people like those more, I'm not saying no new coasters because I'd be down for a themed Willie Coyote family coaster at Six flags or another DC coaster with theming but beyond events the parks just need more for people who don't want high thrills to do

I know many of my friends in the mid 30's don't want the most extreme ride....especially after reading people die or get really hurt on things like X

Maybe I'm just too young but....while It would be cool its not on the top of my list

If they can open it and add shade, more families lands, redo more of the lands and get us more events cool but I think those would draw more people over the sky tower.

I think SFMM is about to transition into a more family friendly park. Of course complicating that is X2

Just to clarify, I was referring to Knotts with the coaster. It's been almost a decade, and that park desperately needs more coaster capacity.

With SFMM I agree. The park needs alot more non coaster rides and experiences

Theres so much dead space in the park that is too small for a huge thrill coaster, but small enough for a family ride or even a simple little dark ride or show venue
