I honestly couldn’t care less about Dr Doom and Secret Wars or the Multiverse or interconnecting storylines at this point.

That stuff was cool when it worked, but the overarching plot threads since Endgame have been such a disaster, and I care so little about the “new” characters that I’d honestly rather we go back to the 2000’s style of completely solo superhero movies. That’s what The Batman did, and that was the best received DC movie in like a decade.

Excited for this movie regardless. I hope it isn’t dragged down trying to tie itself into other MCU movies. If I were them, I’d still want to do the Ned Hobgoblin plot people were speculating about a few years ago and give it 1-2 movies before the memory crisis is solved.

I care about doomsday and secret wars the same way I cared about Deadpool vs wolverine or about something like a "marvel vs Capcom" type of game.

I wanna see recognizable characters fight each other. that's it lol. don't care at all about anything else except the fights lol

That is widely considered to be one of the worst Spider-Man comic stories ever, so hopefully this is an April Fools joke.

Allow myself to quote... myself.

If this had been "One More Day" (which I completely got confused with this, great catch @saint.piss ), it would have been pretty funny considering all the Mephisto angst in front of the Agatha series.

I can see the boardroom now: "Let's introduce this wanted character with the one arc that made everyone hate the character, and the story, the series, and the company!"

:lmao:  :lmao:

Love the Secret Invasion thing up there @belloq87 as some kind of encouragement! I have so much more faith in the MCU now.

:lmao:

Well, here's until Ben Reilly is introduced!:lmao::cheers:

I would really love a film like Guardians Vol. 3 or Shang-Chi, that build off the world that the MCU have created to tell their own largely self-contained narrative. The connections between the films being background elements, like the fighting ring with all of the different villain groups from over the years in Shang-Chi, or the post-Endgame battle Ravagers using Dr. Strange portals in addition to their own pirate tech. Little details like that go a lot farther to connecting these films naturally than any number of needless cameos ever could.

Frankly, that's what Homecoming did! And that's part of why I love that film. It's self-contained, but it builds off of Tony Stark's character arc naturally, incorporates elements from multiple Avengers films naturally, and even includes a really well-done Steve Rogers cameo at a moment where his character wasn't around anymore.

They just need to find that focus again. Characters first, world-building second, and cameos maybe a close sixth place.
