I'm having a lot of fun with the online 4 on 4 matches, but I wish there was more to it than a couple maps at a time. And I've found that the local multiplayer experience is terrible and really needs the option for at least a 2-on-2 turf war. The balloon pop isn't cutting it for us. The game has great potential, but falls a little short for me.

Local multiplayer just isn't an appealing option for the vast majority of the playerbase. 60FPS doesn't go well with split screen, and the Wii U can't handle multiple Gamepads, which is needed for the game.

Overall the game is ridiculously fun. Great new Nintendo IP.

Nintendo does local multiplayer better than anyone, so I was wrong in assuming that this would be the case with Splatoon.
