Johnny English is an old franchise now, but I would be 100% on board with him crashing a James Bond stunt show anyway because that would be hilarious, haha.

Bridget Jones is very big at the moment, but I'm not sure how it would translate into a park attraction. Live fountain fights daily between Colin Firth and Hugh Grant lookalikes?

I would absolutely be in favour of daily fountain fights between Colin Firth and Hugh Grant lookalikes! Like you I can't see how Bridget Jones would translate to an attraction.

Working Title and Universal also released 'Shaun of the Dead' which is also old but is about a zombie apocalypse in London. That could be an interesting premise for a ride.

Little Britain had a Bitty skit but I don't think it would be appropriate although it could be a "special drink" seller that rivals Butter beer. Als a customer service center based on "Computer says no" would be hilarious.

Oh lord I forgot about that show. I'm sure universal did not have that in mind haha

Just thinking Admin/Mods; when the plans are released (which we think is this Thursday) do we need to splint Universal GB off into several threads so it doesn’t get too messy and busy here.

I think all modern water rides can nowadays be altered for different weather conditions.

Great shout I think. I guess we’ll see on Thursday how much info is available, but having a few dedicated threads might make it easy to navigate.

I suspect one thread (if we split) will get slammed on Thurs and the other would be quiet. Though in the coming weeks, speculation about IP and rides and all that will be high.

Don’t get too excited. Best we can probably hope for is outlines for “theme park area” and “parking area” etc with no inner detail. But still cool. I’m tempering my expectations though.

This is what I'm expecting. Universal will want to present the least amount of detail that they can get away with to get the broad envelope of their planning approved by government, to give them as much flexibility as they get deep in to the design process (as well as keeping their detailed plans under wraps as much as they can to control the PR). For the government, I think they will have a statutory duty to consult on the environmental impact statement; they'll want to consider plans for transport infrastructure including local and regional impacts; they'll want to consider what the constraints will be on things like building dimensions such as volume, maximum height, closeness to site boundaries; site infrastructure requirements such as water, power, sewerage; etc. What I don't think we'll see will be ride descriptions, IP details, the stuff that we're all interested in.

One thing though, they specifically mentioned drawings being part of the documents we'll be able to view. Not sure you'd be submitting drawings for public viewing if you're just going to post vague outlines of buildings. Of course I'm not insinuating we'd be getting every detail, but I think we might get more than expected here.

As it is I'm mostly wanted to see the layout and placement of buildings to compare against the concept art, so I have an idea of how much was changed. I'm not at all hoping to see anything that would actually giveaway what IP every area will be.

I’m expecting what we get to have a decent amount of detail without all the specifics. Using these recent plans from the new land under construction at Chessington at the moment, it shows the dimensions of theming structures while not showing the exact shape.
