All day yesterday 93.5 kday radio was promoting Grinchmas and giving away tickets saying that there will be a winter playground with REAL snow. HMM last years promo or will USH be bringing the snow back for December? anyone hear anything?
This was the first year where USH did not return to normal operating hours on New Years Day. I am glad they finally figured that out after a decade of late arrival guests into the park on Jan 1.Apparently today wasn't too busy.
I've always found it odd how Universal resumes normal operating hours on New Year's Day. I wonder what their reasoning is.
They have an announcer come over the loudspeakers, pretty much it.^ What does Disneyland do for their tree lighting? Do they have one?
Yes, I agree that's a pretty fair trade-off.Yeah, that's pretty much it. But considering all the other amazing holiday offerings Disneyland has, I think it's a fair tradeoff lol.
One has to wonder if HHN 2013 was the test to see if they could pull off seasonal offerings in the backlot.Just saw a few videos of California Adventure and it definitely reminds me of Universal.
But looking back at Grinchmas 2013, what does everyone expect for next year's event? A full-fledged show? The return of snow?
Jon kinda hints at this, but yeah that'll never happen, mostly due to backlot shooting. Plus, HHN brought people to specific mazes and had them waiting at about 7 at night, while Grinchmas would be hard to handle since you're bringing in a full AUDIENCE. It's a good thought, but I guarantee that's not what's at play here. One has to wonder if HHN 2013 was the test to see if they could pull off seasonal offerings in the backlot.
To me it looked like it was a HUGE success, so I could see a return of the Tree Lighting show, but in the backlot. This also frees up Universal Plaza for the return of snow or something completely different.
I think we will see the backlot used more and more as the park grows.
