I’m absolutely a Dinosaur fan, so I’m actually going to be pretty bummed if/when it goes.

That said, I do like Indiana Jones a lot and consider it a basically perfect attraction, so that won’t be a terrible consolation prize. Only thing is, the Indiana Jones Adventure is an overall experience that extends beyond just the ride…there’s not going to be room to replicate the 1/2 mile queue, but they really have to do something with the space to give AK Indy that same feeling of being transported somewhere immersive. At the very least, I’d like to see them rip up the entry plaza and turn that into an interior temple queue because the current indoor queue won’t cut it.

Also, can we relax on complaining about the construction timeline? We’re skipping a few steps of complaining…let’s wait until we decide we don’t like the confirmed IP and how the concept art is unrealistic before we move to the timeline complaints :lmao:

Silly OrlandoGuy, you know online fans must be the judge, jury, and executioner for any ride before it's complete.

Good citizens of Calico... Animal Kingdom... Inside Universal, are you ready for a hanging!???

The other issue is, the bridge scene was budget-cut from Dinosaur, so not sure if there is even space for it. Of course, while the ride layout is a clone, we don't know if the ride theme (Temple of the Forbidden Eye) would be replicated. As much as I love Indy at DL, I'd rather have a new adventure so it's same same, but different.

Oof…yeah, good point. That one huge room with the bridge in the center IS what puts Indiana Jones ahead of the pack. Hopefully the infrastructure allows for them to recreate that…

The chatter over on Magic -- including from plugged-in people like Martin -- indicates there may be something else significant happening at AK in addition to the Dinoland project.
Disney deserves all the negativity over the past few years... but I think they are still more than capable of surprising us. I think they'll go big with DAK.

While all the WDW parks can benefit from expansions... it's the one that will struggle the most in the short-term. DHS has no issue pulling people in due to the power of IP, Epcot is lucky to have festivals and MK is MK.

I have accepted that IP mania will descend upon the park, but as long as whatever's happening there results in...

1. A net gain of significant attractions over the current roster.
2. The new stuff still being focused on animals and nature (which I believe Indy can be if it's not going to be a straight clone of Disneyland's story), at the same level of thematic quality as Africa, Asia, and Pandora.

... then I'm cautiously optimistic.

I will never be okay with dinosaurs no longer having a presence, though.

Yeah, I'm all for thematic integrity... but DAK just needs something desperately. Whatever they make, needs to be a high-capacity attraction like an Omnimover or boat ride.

My hope is that they realize the importance of capacity (which I think they now know) and keep Dinosaur to keep something prehistoric. Put Indy in Dinorama, and then make a proper South/Tropical Americas land between Asia & Africa.

I think I've thrown the "Indiana Jones x Dinosaurs" ride concept out there a few times before, but yeah, that'd be the best possible outcome when it comes to a Dinosaur replacement imo.

They could even lean into the Cryptozoology aspects of stuff like the Mokele-mbembe if they wanted to. Indiana Jones has to save the final Sauropod alive in South America from poachers, like a cross between Indiana Jones Adventure, Dinosaur, and the OG Kilimanjaro Safari, just done a little more fantastical this time haha.
