Ride the world's wildest dive roller-coaster

MSN has leaked Canada’s Wonderland’s newest coaster: A B&M dive-coaster named Yukon Striker.

Stats (from the article, more will come tomorrow)
  1. World’s tallest dive coaster
  2. Most inversions on a dive-coaster (four)
  3. First dive-coaster to feature a vertical loop
My thoughts? This looks awesome! The only weak spot (to me) is that break-run. It’s needlessly long and slow.

Looks great! I really like the unconventional first half.

I like that it has a bit more coaster to it than the older dive machines.

Exactly. I have waited for B&M to develop a dive coaster with more traditional coaster elements to it than dive, immelman, heartline, brake, dive, heartline, and helix.

I'm kinda' split on this, on one hand the first half of the ride looks awesome and it's great to see them putting in a vertical loop on a dive machine. (RCT finally comes true!)

Unfortunately, the awesomeness of the first half of the ride looks to come to a screeching halt at the mid-course breaks as it's rather plain looking afterwards. An' finally, vest restraints. I just don't like them on dive machines, I'll always prefer the older restraints for that more open/free feeling on the drops.

I've never been on a dive machine before so I'm pumped for this one! The most recent "big" coaster we received was a B&M giga but it was so similar to the hyper that they put in several years before that one that it didn't feel like a new ride. Looking forward to something a bit different!

To me it looks short (in length) compared to Gryffon and Sheikra. I do like that it will dive through the suspended coaster and into the tunnel in the water though...

That's awesome! I've always felt kinda nervous leaving my bags in the bins there.

It's crazy that Canada's Wonderland got the spiritual successor to King's Dominion's Volcano...

Interesting that despite being 1000' longer than Full Throttle that the ride time is 10 seconds shorter.

No midcourse stop and it doesn't go backwards.

I'm just mad that CW is getting all the cool toys. While I understand why Kings Island is adding a short water coaster, the area where Vortex used to sit could really use a multi-launch coaster right now.

CW is the number one park in the chain for attendance despite a shorter season than most of the others. Investments in CW seem to keep growing attendance faster than the others.

I always thought that Cedar Point was the big dog but CW is leading the pace. Helps that it is in a suburb of a good-sized city. I recognize that Cleveland and Toledo (and places in-between) are close to Cedar Point but being in the suburbs of a city with a population of nearly 3 million and close to 10 million in the general area.

It's also really the ONLY theme park in Canada of any note.
