What a myopic view.

I tend to think corporations have some responsibilities to consumers. EU looks great, but it’s an additional product for which Universal will charge full price. In no way, shape, or form does its construction relieve them from responsibility for the other products for which they charge full price. Slowing the addition of new attractions due to pressure from EU is a reasonable measure. Shuttering portions of a park indefinitely and running attractions without their full show to save money is not.

And yes, most guests will notice that an entire land is empty except for a (very nice) sit down restaurant. Guests can be oblivious, but they aren’t complete fools.

This is going to come across harsher than I intend, and I'm not picking on you (really!), but I really don't like this rationalization for anything.

Letting things slide because the average guest won't notice is not how these companies should operate.

Im being short and succinct as I still have no power and cell service is spotty.

But corporations also don’t have an infinite set of resources.

Honestly, even with Poseidon and Sinbad closed, Lost Continent is visually stunning to walk through. They can keep throwing in random character meet and greets and most people won’t care or even notice until they are ready to build something new.

Lost Continent is the rare exception where I think people do notice, especially when the Hagrids extended queue runs.

Wish the same could be said for the Toon Lagoon Theater.

Agreed— that side feels more “dead” than Lost Continent

This area absolutely is still amazing even just to sit and enjoy a drink or some food. While Mythos and quick services are both higher quality for what their offering, permanent festival like food booths around the area would show they actually care a bit. This being the “chill” area of IOA isn’t a bad idea for temporary placement.

Honestly, Lost Continent feels like it fits a similar role as Port of Entry to me at this point. It is visually really nice, has the Halloween store among some others for different demographics, a few different dining options, a few Meet & Greets and the Talking Fountain, bridges to both JP and Potter, all within a relatively small plot of land. It's never not busy or visually uninteresting. It's a shame that Poseidon's had to close when it did, but that's just how things worked out unfortunately.

I feel like until EU is finished and USF is fixed up quite a bit, I'm cool with this staying for the time being. I'm not super antsy about this in any way other than simply wanting more Nintendo in my Universal Florida Resort sooner than later.

If they are still set on Zelda in this spot, I am going to wager a guess that it could be totally different than the boat ride that was originally rumored when they finally settle on something for the IP.

USF has more pressing needs anyways with HRRR nearing the end of its service life and the Simpsons contract up in 2028.

Lost Continent is my favorite Island, so the longer it sticks around, the happier I am. I love being able to just sit by Poseidon's Fury and take in the ambiance of the Island. I love the soundtrack and the incredible detail of LC. I need to finally check out Mythos tho lol.

As someone who waited too long to go to Mythos for the first time, I say you should go there immediately lol

Imagine if Universal came out with a new Lost Continent movie and then based this land on the new IP?

I think part of that lies with the layout of Super Hero Island; if Spider-Man’s entrance were closer to the restrooms on the far side (where its extended queue sits) then the space between the end of the land and Toon Lagoon proper would feel less vast.

Exactly how I feel.

Lost Continent has a very chill atmosphere, a great restaurant, awesome music - as well as the Mystic Fountain and arguably my favorite store on property.

How has Fire Eaters Grill held up last few years? I always remembered that being one of the stronger quick service spots, as well as the Kebab place.

I think both are still quite solid (my last visit was last fall).

About the same. Only major change is that they've changed the chicken tender to be crispier. Changed a few months ago.

Zelda has a new Lego set out (its first ever?) that is the huge Deku Tree ... my first thought was that it would look great as a ride entrance.

Or will this area just be an HP expansion?

There's no proof that HP will expand in that area
