Sally.

Rides.

Sesame.

Street.

Goes to.

The Beach.

They really need a survey for the most obvious ride concept they could do?

Again… I will buy SeaWorld…

That bridge is pretty much burned after Sesame Workshop had to sue SW to collect its licensing fees.

They settled, but Sesame Workshop is in worse shape than United Parks right now. Big layoffs and uncertainty…

Yeeeup, and I've been in the boat where while I can understand why people want SW to add a dark ride...you're asking a company to put in something they have consistently proven is NOT their forte. In fact, they've been downright embarrassing at it with the likes of the short-lived Submarine Voyage at SWSD.

And before anyone says SWAD, that is rather akin to TDL/TDS being on a different level and budget than stateside parks. And I don't see SW putting that kind of money into something over here.

Actually, SW has three excellent dark ride/water ride attractions....at Orlando, Williamsburg and SD. Unfortunately, they let all three get in a rundown condition and they're just shells of what they were at opening. Fix all three up to standard and they'd have three primo attractions.

Anyone know where they have 400 acres still undeveloped?

SeaWorld parent eyes 400 acres in Orlando for development

The company behind SeaWorld in recent years has announced plans for two hotels adjacent its theme parks — and there’s more development to come, with the potential to expand beyond hospitality.

Can't read the OBJ article but there has to be a misunderstanding somewhere... they don't have that many plots, even counting something like the new Aquatica parking lot as "undeveloped." The do own behind their HR building all the way over to Westwood Blvd. but that's not anywhere close to even 100 acres.

I know in the 13 years I’ve lived here they sold off a bunch of land— aside from the old wax museum and Florida Festival area, there’s not much left that isn’t parks or parking lots already.

Only thing I can think of is if you include the parking lot and some of the back of house areas.

Couldn't they build a parking garage & then expand on the existing flat lot?

It's been so long I don't remember how large their parking lot was/is. I've only got a vague memory of it. Need BIO to do a quick flyover update lol

They COULD, and if they are selling the piece across the street that they use for overflow parking they would have to (at least for portions of it).

If they capitalize, SWO will have a significant advantage in its location if they can get high quality resorts on property. They are only 5ish mins away from Epic, 15-20 from WDW, and eventually 5 minutes from the (hopefully) future Brightline station and right across a proposed baseball stadium.

It’s been a long time since I’ve driven by there but have they even started on the hotel? It’s been a long time since the site plans leaked but I don’t think they’ve actually done anything yet.

Nothing has happened unfortunately. I wouldn't be surprised to see plans change and they relocate the hotel to the park entrance as part of an entrance refresh (a few of the entry buildings are falling apart, lots of wood railings collapsed, poor paint jobs, etc.)

With Six Flags/Cedar selling 2 parks in favor of cash for real estate development... I wouldn't put it behind United management to do this. Very little land left throughout the tourism district to develop anything significant now.
