I was at the park yesterday, and it was one of the worst visits I ever had... Journey to Atlantis was closed (which I did expect--although it was testing very continuously nearly the entire day), but they also inexplicably closed off Emperor. Then Arctic Rescue was closed. Not temporarily, the entire entrance was blocked off, so who knows how long that will be. And on the smaller rides, both Riptide Rescue and Tidal Twister also never opened (the latter seems to be getting heavily renovated).
In terms of rides, that basically meant Manta, Electric Eel, and Shipwreck Rapids (and all the kiddie rides) were the only ones open in the entire park, which also meant all their lines were really long. Skyway and SkyTower were open, but they were still charging... and I do remember a time when many, many rides were down at the same time, they temporarily made those free. But not today, even though they had more closed rides than open.
On top of that, the Pirate show, which I was hoping to see, turns out to be dark on Wednesdays, so I didn't get to see that either.
And oh, my favorite part... if you looked at their app, it said (and this is a direct quote): "Arctic Rescue-- 5 min wait--temporarily closed". When it clearly wasn't going to open at all. It also gave a zero minute wait for Emperor for another entirely closed ride.
They do know it's the summer season, right?
I did go through the penguins exhibit, and yes, the Emperor penguins are gone. Not that you'd really even notice, as they are in their dim lighting phase.
