This is a pretty common trick in California to avoid having your property re-assessed for tax purposes. A cool time to be alive, for sure.

It’s common everywhere, from my understanding. We’re discussing rebuilding/renovating a building here in Pennsylvania, and keeping some walls to keep permitting costs down is part of the discussion.

Its a shame that Mythos is going as behind it was a good place to have a sneaky cigarette.

So I'm told.

Will there be any other places in the parks now serving Pad Thai that shouldn't be good but somehow is?

While all the major attractions of Lost Continent have closed, one thing that remains open is Mythos Restaurant, but the Those Who Would Know tell us that Mythos is scheduled to be shut down for good as well early next year. We’ll have a lot to say when that actually happens, but aside from being a great restaurant to eat food in, the overall design is out of this world.

I'm not dumb, I don't confirm things in public first.

I’ll be devastated if Mythos has closed by our next visit in early March. The souvlaki couscous bowl is my favourite dish in any of the parks.

It's a fantastic dish, light yet filling. Should try it with the steak next time.

Yeah, that couscous bowl is a winner anytime I have it. Granted, for me I've never had anything bad there. Always good eats, drinks and a disorienting trip to the bathroom.

Couldn’t agree more. I don’t think I’ve ever actually had it with anything but the steak - but if there is a next time I’ll definitely be ordering it again. Here’s hoping.

Yes, on the rare occasion I branch out and order something different I’m never disappointed. And I think it’s the only place that serves Orange Blossom Pilsner in the parks too?

I would have thought that given its popularity Universal would be trying to keep it open as long as possible / focus on the other areas of LC first. It seems like a strange decision.

I have just received a reasonably reliable confirmation LC will become Pokemon. Of course until Universal confirms it and until they actually start construction, that's subject to change. They have changed plans last minute several times in the past decade and a half...

Of course, with all the buzz around Wicked right now, if it actually lives up to the hype and reviews coming out, they may decide their own IP is the priority.

Oddly enough, I've only eaten at Mythos one time - and only got an app and drink. But it was great!

I’ve been told they already have plans for Wicked.

Pokemon in Lost Continent is a good call. Losing Mythos will hurt bad. Even if the Pokemon replacement has the exact same menu, it won’t hit the same. But any aesthetic Universal chooses for the land (realistic urban Rhyme City, cartoony Safari Zone, quaint Pallet Town, any combination thereof), it will work transitionally between Seuss and Hogsmeade while rebalancing the park a touch.
