I kinda hope the broomstick idea is a suspended coaster? Maybe make it Dueling if it’s Quidditch themed to simulate a match.

I agree. I think it's pretty likely that this ride could be themed to the 1920s Quidditch World Cup. Signage within the land already indicates the Quidditch World Cup is currently happening within Paris, and the potential entrance to this ride would be near Bar Moonshine, which is themed with the pendants of international Quidditch teams. Besides the one scene in Forbidden Journey, Quidditch also just feels like the one remaining major component of Harry Potter that has not yet been explored within an attraction.

I want to add a bit to this. The company name on the permit is Baker Barrios who has done work on a few different sports stadiums like the Amway Center and FIU's football stadium. If this is true, could it be they are designing a world cup style stadium similar to the one in Goblet of Fire? Or at least any Quidditch-style Stadium.

On the flip side, they've also done a ton of office building work (like the newer EA Creative Village), so it could be a large back of house office building.

If they are simply making that spot for back of house space, I would be fine with that. Potter is kinda tapped out as far as new attractions ideas, and perhaps they might be able to free up more expansion space at USF if back of house functions are relocated to this new spot.

Bit late to this conversation, but the idea of an Epic Universe Wicked coaster is very silly. Crazy mismatch of IP to ride system, and I hope to never see another coaster at Epic again. :nervous: We've got enough of those, I think.

I think they really should prioritize constructing enclosed themed area, indoor dark ride type of attractions. I believe 75% of Epic Universe site is outdoors. And I think that's too much for Florida weather.

  • Remember that Mummy and Gringotts are coasters. Epic doesn't have a coaster similar to either one. (No indoor coasters at all at Epic, so no rides similar to Tron, Space Mountain, Guardians, or Rockin Rollercoaster.)
  • Coasters are a good 'second attraction' to round out a land in addition to a boat ride, show, or dark ride. Look at Jurassic at IOA, Hogsmeade at IOA, Berk, Monsters, and SNW for precedence.
Having a coaster would round out the Potter area at Epic. So would a flying theater or boat-ride, but I'm not sure how a boat ride might work for a Potter / Paris area (I have some ideas but they seem very unlikely).

If we deeply think about it in a practical way, this makes all the sense in the world. I think it is 99% certain that the contracts for Wizarding World have the same clauses as the previous Potter lands... the ones that say things like "must be equal to /above any land in the theme park".

In fact I would not be surprised if they had to pay WB/Rowling a fee to allow the Epic Wizarding World to open in a less than a "premier" situation ... (only one ride---minus the old VR ride)

Since Universal’s contract seems to require one new Potter attraction per year company wide, maybe they decided Epic needed it more than any other park right now?

Meanwhile Hollywoods kicking rocks with nothing for LA2028 excluding a new hotel like…/jk (means Hollywood doesn’t get Potter slop as the next major project atleast)
