Looks like no more free standard parking after midnight at HHN.

Are they actually going to pay people to stand in those booths until 2 a.m.?

I'm more interested on how they are going to handle passholders and the Scream Early ticket. If I'm a premier passholder, and I scan my free HHN ticket, I don't see why I couldn't utilize Scream Early because I have access to the park and to the houses.

I guess they could say the ticket is only valid for the event hours and not included in the Scream Early, but Universal tends to treat their passholders well. I don't see them doing something like that.

So, think of Scream Early as a hard ticketed event within a hard ticketed event. Your Premier Pass gets you into the park during the day, and using your free HHN ticket gets you into HHN. That qualifies you for Stay and Scream, where you are allowed to stay in the park during the closing sweep of day guests, and queue for houses early. Scream Early is a SEPERATE ticket, not part of your entitlements that lets you INTO three of the houses super early. Universal is still treating their passholders very well.

took them long enough, actually I'm surprised it took them this long. sea world and bush gardens never have free parking.
that's a lot of money they are leaving on the table.
so frequent dear passes will have to get annual or the ultimate frequent fear now?
how will the midnight visitors handle this?

I don't know the logistics or how the movie theater will work, but will uni just close parking at 1 am or earlier? will anyone really visit city walk or hhn at 1 am ? specially after this change?

I'm wondering if this change has to do with them trying to prevent people from coming for just 1 or 2 hours. Maybe making park exit at closing easier? Who knows lol

oh yeah that makes sense. the last time I went, some of the rush of fear guests would visit at midnight and create a parking bottleneck,
but I just checked the universal theater and the last showings for movies are around 11pm, I thought there were midnight showings, but I guess uni can just close the parking at midnight. it's not like there's much open at midnight in citywalk

This happened to me one night last year. We had left the park at like 8:30 because we were exhausted. Around 11pm we caught a second wind and decided to take the bus back over and getting through security and city walk when everybody else was starting to leave the event was chaotic. Felt like swimming upstream.

Man, parking has been the hot topic this week, eh? First, the Disney Springs debacle clogging up my feeds and now this?

My guess, and it's only a guess, is that they reserve the right to charge, but will also cut down staffing by 12. Then again, probably a single TM working both sides of the booth, so maybe 2 cars an hour makes it cost-effective.

Used to see traffic jams waiting for the after-8 parking, but watching as I leave around 11:30 - 12:30 lately, rarely much of a line. I find it hard to believe there's budget-changing amounts of money at issue here.
