I think the outrage is a bit much

I do think there are somethings that will be getting used to, like the extra walk time back for some parking depending on where you end your day.

I think during Fan Fest and HHN could be when normal people get much more upset when told you can't bring food/water into citywalk because of the events but as long as they keep up having a bunch of people getting people through, I think the online chatter will disappear mostly

If you can't understand why people amplify a legitimate complaint, however minor, into something verging on a total meltdown ... have you ever been on the Internet before?

Not during HHN and Fan Fest

They make you empty water bottles, no extra drinks are allowed and food is also not allowed. Some Security allow snacks but I've been told by others nothing is allowed in and you either take it back to your car or trash the food with you

This will only affect about 3ish months out of the year but still something I could see lead to complaints for those going to the movies and Citywalk in general

I have seen one Facebook post that had a person going on a four-paragraph rant about how this change will be"Universal's ultimate reckoning" and the "final nail in the coffin for CityWalk." Like okay Gearald, we get it. You're only 15 minutes late to your showing on Scary Movie 6. With how many trailers AMC plays, you'll make it just in time for Nichole Kidman.

Yeah that's going to be annoying. Usually if I'm going to HHN I'll be finishing my energy drink or coffee or whatever. It will be annoying to be told I can't take it to CityWalk at like 3PM.

Maybe if enough people complain they can make it so you can bring food/drink until 5/6 PM. The issue is they start at like 2 PM and its not really fair to those with day time Tickets

I would honestly love to hear the reasons on why Food aren't allowed in, like if it safe for me to bring in a snack for the summer time at night or Grinchmas no idea why HHN would change that but time will tell how the events affect the process in a few months

Plus if I have dietary restrictions and I'm just going to City Walk and not HHN....well that's not really fair.

So saw someone on Reddit talk about coming for a late night showing of an AMC movie (10 PM) and only one scanner was open at security

This is where I think I can get the anger from people, I will also be honest and say I doubt this new system will affect me like that because I show up when the park is opening or in the later afternoon but I hope for the movie goes they do a better job at staffing when the park is closed

Honest question as I have no idea.... When the park is closed is there really that much traffic (outside of special event nights) that this will be an issue?

Movies

People are stressing over The Odyssey because of the Imax, they are having some late and early show times...that could be affected by low staffing like this

I figured the movies, as I doubt the rest of the area is busy. But doing a quick google, it appears the IMAX theater capacity is 377 seats. So I just don't see how the staffing (outside of no staffing) will be an actual issue. I could be wrong, but I feel people are complaining about something that "could" happen than what "will". Also outside of poor planning on a personal level (people tend to blame others for their lack of planning)

"Lack of planning on your part doesn't constitute an emergency on mine"

I mean I'm not there so can't speak on it but the person complaining went to see a movie and it took over 15 mins because their is one person there. The issue is having staff that low at almost anytime
