I heard the Grand Opening is going to be the 19th.
Anyone else hear this rumor?

When we did our night ride on that first soft opening day, we decided to scan all the QR codes while in line, which just took us to behind the scenes YouTube videos. Not once did we see a single other person scanning the QR codes and watching the videos, and quite frankly, I don't think people even realize that the plaques around the queue are QR codes. I think Universal overestimated people here.

When we all first heard that the queue was going to be a celebration of stunt work/behind the scenes stuff, what I imagined was video screens along with the props/stunt cars, of stunt crew or producers or the actors talking about things so people in line could watch, similar to more of the "old school" Universal style; asking people to not only realize they should be scanning QR codes, but to then watch videos on their phones in an already loud and crowded environment seems counterintuitive, as people are far more likely to collectively watch screens in a queue than they are to be motivated to put in work scanning for YouTube videos and draining their phone batteries.

That said, I also think most parkgoers just... don't care anyway. They're focused on the coaster going on above and around them, as well as their own personal conversations, and even if there were screens about the behind the scenes stuff, the majority would undoubtedly talk right through them anyway, so maybe Universal realized from the get-go that there's no point.

Like Mummy at Universal Orlando. A really cool story throughout the queue on screens....but, hardly anyone pays attention to them.

They could just move those pre-show TM's from USF over to USH, and just have them in the queue heckling everyone waiting.

I thought it was interesting how a piece of the Castle Theater has remained behind Luigi's Pizza. You can see it from the queue. I guess it was too difficult to remove so they just kept it.

Didn’t think to get a pic of it, but once the ride opens again, if you look behind the wooden fence with the mural in it, you can make out a black brick wall peering just over the fence. It’s right behind where Luigi’s is at.

Adding to what everyone else has said, this coaster is more intense than your usual Disney coaster, and you never see pouches on the trains of intense coasters like these anywhere. They always have lockers, bins in stations and so forth. This is the norm for an intense coaster.

Your right, Space Mountain, Matterhorn, and Incredicoaster are pretty tame.

Now that my wedding this past weekend has come and gone, I'm hoping this opens again in the next few days so we can ride it again a few times before we're off on our honeymoon! (Had to break the news to a few family/friends who asked in person how it was and have been excited to ride it for their first time when we go to HHN that it ain't gonna happen, which... sucks for them!)

Speaking of which....I do not envy those poor guest services people during HHN. They're gonna get an earful when the GP find out the ride won't be open during the event.

Some TMs want to act like they know everything, even as events change around them without their knowledge. So they shoot from the hip. TMs are humans at the end of the day.

There's typically a playbook for these kind of questions.

Also, the playbook changes when the initial event happens and when middle-to-upper leadership gets involved. One front-line manager could have erred on the side of caution ('if they removed it, tell them it won't be honored') rather than operating out of pocket. CYA.

I imagine this is more or less what happened until it started to blow up and it got sent up the chain of command.
