Yep. But Legoland's hotel is open 365 days a year. UKR's isn't. I'm not sure how much they can take away from that model.

It's not? I tried booking 11/2 - 11/5 and it lets me. Park is supposed to be closed in that window. So maybe outside of that window in January they won't let you book, but it seems like they'll be operating the hotel when park is closed.

Cedar Point has the Hotel Breakers attached…I believe during the fall when they’re only open Thursday through Sunday they just have everyone check out Monday morning, close Tuesday, and resume check-ins Wednesday afternoon.

That's a legit option.

It's been a while since I tried booking dates when the park is closed. It used to not let me. I'll ask about that tomorrow.

Good find!

I got some answers when I swung by the hotel on my lunch break. The hotel is indeed open 365. I asked if that was always the case, explaining that in the first week or so of reservations, I wasn't able to book on days the park was closed. I couldn't get an answer on that one.

Maybe it was a website glitch (there were many in the early days of this resort) or those days simply hadn't loaded yet.

What's interesting is that you can book those rooms without knowing that the park is unavailable during your stay. There is no language on those pages alerting guests to that fact.

Anyway, thanks for keeping me honest!

So, when you select your dates, this is on the screen with the date picker:

That's how I knew which dates to check.

Ah! It's in the modal that pops up when you add the date, not in the static page. And it's showing up below the bottom of my laptop screen, completely out of sight.

I actually saw it last night, but not this afternoon because my dates were cached and still populating the check-in/out fields. I just clicked submit on that screen without seeing the notice.

So while they're letting us know, the UI could be greatly improved. If I designed this page, I'd show an alert once users add those dates to ensure they're fully aware that the park isn't open.

Yeah, I think that's fair. Put it up at the top! Maybe do an alert that pops up when you select dates the park is closed.
