I read a negative review of Islands of Adventure on Trip Advisor:

"The only reason this place exists is due to the fact that Disney World opened 30 years earlier and Universal came along to try and chip away at Disney's success. You can see that Universal doesn't nearly put in as much effort into their parks as Disney does. The only area that even comes remotely close to the experiences of that of Disney is the Harry Potter area which is hilarious because this is the only area that was not built by Universal, it was built by a team of engineers from Warner Bros. Plus they are now replacing Jaws, a movie actually made by Universal, with more Harry Potter attractions, a movie made by Warner Bros.!!!"

Clearly the reviewer is heavily biased and very negative overall. But I was wondering if people think of the WWoHP as a "Warner Bros." zone within the Universal park? I've never thought of it this way, and I hope that's not what people think! Here's a link to the full review this a-hole left: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g34515-d258685-r209616340-Universal_s_Islands_of_Adventure-Orlando_Florida.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT

My guess would be the only people that know about the Warner Brothers angle are the hardcore theme park internet fans. The general populace probably only recognizes the Universal name associated with the park and various IP's.

Also, that's not even a review of the park. But apparently Disney's magic is real and Universal's is fake.

If only there were some way you could mark a review as unhelpful.

Yes, especially on TripAdvisor where people give 1 star ratings and then explain everything was perfect except for one insignificant and rare thing that 'ruined' their whole trip. Or in the case of this review "Universal Orlando is a fun place to come" but they get a 2 star because it's not called Disney. Obviously UOR could not "chip away at Disney's success" if it was as inferior as they made it out to be. They just appeal more to different groups, if something was actually wrong IT SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE REVIEW!!!

But I want to know what these WB themepark engineers do when they are not designing Harry Potter World for Universal.
(I know they had a few parks of their own, but didn't they sell 'em all off long ago?)

Ha, ha. Yep, you can look up their other reviews and everything Disney is 5 Stars.
http://www.tripadvisor.com/members-citypage/DavidR363/g34515

Hard Rock, and CBBR are 3 star but Art of Animation is 5?
http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUser...imation_Resort-Kissimmee_Florida.html#REVIEWS

And again the why is because it's not Disney.

The hotel is nice but to standard. If I were you I would stay in Disney World over a Universal Studios hotel...

You could tell that this was just a hotel that Universal was trying to make to copy that of the value resorts that Disney has to offer. To be honest, they should just leave it to Disney to make these type of resorts because I was pretty disappointed with this resort.

So, there are supposed to be 20 magical things that will happen with spells and wands in DA and another 10 are being installed in Hogsmeade.

I would just like to see something original and not IP-ish. Something Universal creates just for the parks. Ex. Mystic Manor. That's all they need. No more. spreading.

Someone posted a video in past couple days showing the snowman sliding around on the cake, but I can't seem to find it right now. If I come across it before someone else, I'll be sure to share.

Yes... it was the birthday or get well party for Mr. Weasley I think. The tea shop has a similar cake and snowman.

I can't imagine that the large snowman on the corner of the Neep is going to move...

The little snowman on the cake was gliding around this past Tuesday when I was there. I didn't think anything of it, I thought it was just another moving window. Was that a new thing? Sorry if it was, I should've posted a video in here.

Actually I was referring to a youtube video of the little snowman on the cake in the Madam Puddifoot's window. I assumed Disneyhead was referring to that snowman as well; I didn't even think about the big one on the corner. Sorry for the confusion.

Like I've said before, nearly 90% of bad reviews I've read about Universal have constantly pointed out how it isn't as good as Disney. But hey, those kind of people are why Disney isn't giving us the innovative new attractions Universal is. Because Disney knows they can count on these people's business no matter what anyone else does.
