As I speculated a few days ago, the brown steel truss in the center of the Volcano was only temporary during construction of part of the mountain. It has been removed leaving what will be a huge cavernous space in the center of the Volcano when this is complete.

This is interesting because a while back I was examining the aerial pictures and it appears there maybe a route through the volcano for the lazy river however I never highlighted it on here because the steel frame was right in the middle of the route leaving me doubting my hope of a lazy river or rapids passing through the volcano.

If you look at the image below I know I have only used the vague concept art but it gives you an idea of what I am hoping for. I have highlighted where I think the entrance/exit is for a river using numbers 1 and 2. The only thing is the base height of the volcano in comparison to its surroundings leaves me a little skeptical still for rivers passing through. Would this also line up with what someone mentioned a few posts back asking if the tower at point 2 is another small wave generator for the rapids? it looks like a river would pass to the side of it if that was the case...

Anyone else got any opinions on the below? Again more guess work from me, probably going to be wrong, its more hope than anything!

Good eye @Dan B !!

I never looked at the route of the lazy rivers when looking at the map but it does very much look like both rivers will be going through the volcano with one river entering below #2 in the second picture and exiting further below that, and the first river entering just above the #2 and exiting below #1.

I am pretty sure it was confirmed before that the lazy rivers would go thru the volcano. You can see it on the concept art. Keep in mind there are two lazy rivers. I think your #2 is right, but next to the #2 is the exit, not #1. I don't think from the concept art we can tell if the lazy river on the other side also goes thru.

I'm find it a little odd that when people are reporting on the two lazy rivers, they're describing one as a traditional lazy river and the other as an action lazy river.

How is an action lazy river a thing?

Isn't that a contradiction in terms?

lol - Very true. I believe it would be more of a rapids type river, than a action lazy river.

Typically the more thrilling river isn't referred to as "lazy". The term lazy river is often simply exchanged for "Crazy river".

That makes more sense. Though I'm guessing they won't let me take my kayak down it. :D

Too far to walk with my kayak. 47 pounds gets heavy after a while. Now if Popeye would carry it for me.....

Do we have any idea what we would see tubing through the Volcano?

Then it's probably going to be a very short lazy river with plenty of down time. :(

Loews Hotels co-chairman today said in interview on CNBC that Cabana Bay towers will open in March in conjunction with Volcano Bay, FWIW.
