Replacing lost continent with the land of oz seems perfect to me. With a Wicked movie in the works I don't see why Universal won't take this opportunity. The land could have a wonderful classic family dark ride, the shorter version of wicked to play in the theater and the beautiful themed world of oz that people would kill to see!

Yes, it'd be great. It'd replace a mediocre land with zero draw and two meh shows with a great land based off one of the most iconic movies AND musicals of all time, that'd be a huge draw! It'd be a great tie-in with the Wicked movie coming out, add more family offerings, and put Lost Continent out of its misery.

Is a Wicked movie actually in production? Like 100% confirmed? Because until I see an official trailer I doubt it.

Wicked/Wizard of Oz land, yes please.
Why wait for the musical to be out of the theaters to build a land, make a movie or have a theme park version of the show. It's done before with other movies and it didn't hurt it. And if the theme park land look anything like this I'm in.

It was announced in January of this year that it had been greenlite and Universal was shooting for a December 2016 release... However sense that announcement, nothing else has happened. No casting news, no pre production news. Not even a statement about any sort of delays. I think it's safe to say it's currently in limbo and 2017 would be the earliest we would see it released, and that's if active pre-production starts within the next 6 months.

I think that Lost Continent is being reserved for Fantastic Beasts.

In regard to Oz......I was always surprised that a Las Vegas casino did not go all in on an Oz themed resort. MGM did it on a smaller scale for a while and it was awesome.

Yeah I think Lost Continent is being saved for more Potter stuff.

Although, if they removed Dragon Challenge, they could easily fit some incredible stuff in there.

Pokemon should be in the parks sooner rather than later. If SLoP goes in to Toon Lagoon then putting Pokemon into LC names some sense.

Personally, I would think the much wiser solution is to split the remaining land for Potter and Seuss.

Poseidons gets removed for a large Seuss E-Ticket and Sinbad gets removed for some sort of D-Ticket or C-Ticket. You can retheme Mythos to a Seuss theme; and have the Potter expansion be something like Malfoy's Mansion.

Last I heard, Lost Continent was not on the table for more Potter and is being reserved for a yet-to-be determined I.P. The Dragon Challenge plot will allow for more Potter and not provide an awkward transition to the existing Hogsemead area . As for Fantastic Beasts, if the plan is to use the setting and aesthetic from the film, I don't see how they could make it work in either of the two existing parks. It's set in 1930's New York City. IOA wouldn't work at all for obvious reasons and while USF already has a New York City section that could be rethemed easily to the 1930's, there just isn't room for a major E-ticket in that area especially because they chose to build Fallon. Maybe if Mummy goes they could make it work but given the popularity of that ride and the upcoming Tom Cruise Mummy film, a light revamping of the existing attraction to remove references from the early trilogy and add a few nods to the new film makes much more sense. Building ANOTHER New York section separate from the existing one would of course be absurd.

I think we should hold off speculating what attractions Fantastic Beasts lends itself to. We don't have a book to go on to know which locations the first movie uses or where it's inevitable sequels will be set. Obviously the first movie is set in 1924 in New York City. Iconic locations from the trailers or stories on Pottermore would include MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America) and the American Wizarding School located in Massachusetts, Ilvermorny. The director and the production designer have made statements that allude to the fact that the sequels will span the globe. I think it would be wise for Universal Creative to hold off on any Fantastic Beasts development until it's trilogy is completed, or at least the third one is in pre-production so they could get an idea of what will happen.

As far as Potter goes, I think that both Islands and USF already have enough of the IP represented. Other than my hope of an eventual Ministry of Magic ride overtaking the Fear Factor plot, any more would just be overkill in either park. However, since Potter is obviously a huge draw and a cash cow, I believe the wise move would be to save anything Fantastic Beasts to be a main anchor in a third Park.

Well said...LC can certainly become something else...I honestly wouldn't mind it staying LC if they just removed PF and Sinbad and made them into an actual attractions

In this new era of IPs LC will likely get one sooner or later.

Certainly, I think Mythology has a following in its own right, but you don't see people wearing Zuess or Poseidon shirts around..

Then again, Universal has never given them the opportunity too..

One thing I often wonder about park shirts, how often do people really wear it outside the parks?

They need to get a couple more gods and then open a school of sorcery. Each one of them can have their own house. Just think of the merchandising opportunities.

I agree that sinbad needs to go. I don't agree with PF. PF could be an amazing walk through if they did some re-theming and made a new script and story. Everything doesn't need to be a ride.

I never cared for Sinbad before the redo last summer. We went in May and really enjoyed it. It was so much better than it had been the past few years. . All the new & old effects worked great, and the changes to the storyline, different martial arts fight scenes etc made for an enjoyable show. I'll definitely watch it again in the Fall. I went from a harsh critic to a fan. And the crowd was very enthusiastic, cheering and laughing from beginning to end....I agree on PF. One of the best facades & settings anywhere and a fun entertaining show as long as you get a good guide.
