Continued...

Another photo showing the additional steel work recently (I am interested to see what they do to cover that building that is going to be protruding from the volcano):

Not a photo of VB but at the related:

And lastly What we have expected would happen soon, going to loose one good popular observation spot for construction photos now the new CB towers are progressing. :(

By the looks of the steel outlining the profile of the rock work immediately to the left, it should be completely enclosed once the steel comes around that far. I would assume they're leaving it open while they need access, then it will be built over / around.

LET US PRAY. We all know Uni is infamous for their "The theming stopppps... HERE" approach.

I'm still not convinced it is going to be completely enclosed, see my previous post quoted below for the picture appearing to show daylight through the volcano meaning some part of the volcano is open. After looking at the picture again I still think it is going to be open and the concept video seems to support this at the moment.

Dan B said:
They have only built one half of the steel structure, the other half of the volcano is completely open so plenty of time to put the slide pieces in before any remaining structure is built around. However I am not 100% convinced the current open side of the volcano is going to be full enclosed like the wave pool side. In the concept video from what I could make out there appears to be a few openings towards the back of the volcano giving the impression it is partially open, this would make sense with the amount of different slides potentially coming out of it. You will see below all of the open areas.

Expect the hype to start building very soon with more announcements and information coming out.

Universal just sent a blast to all of the people on the Wet-N-Wild mailing list giving them a chance to opt in for the Volcano Bay mailing list.

The one by SF? I think they get moved and reduced in size. They have another parking garage to put down there to screen the interstate.

Update from WildGravity Travels, plenty of pictures:

Just a note, the opening they mention in the web article is not the observation deck, I'm sure of it. It would be on the wrong side for a start considering the observation deck is shown directly above the wave pool and this opening happens to be on the side of the volcano in comparison.

Couple of photos from G-Man:

What is going on in this picture? What is that structure in the foreground? And what is that wavy steel on the ground that almost looks like a super wide coaster track? And what is that canopy tent thing all about?

I'd guess it was one of the CB towers.

Great photos!

Once the Volcano stops being a transparent mesh of steel and has the rock work applied, the Volcano is going to dominate this landscape.

Yeah, at first I thought so, but then I noticed that it was on the south side of the steel retention walls so I think it could be something else. This project is wackadoodle confusing...

All new artwork. I would judge that the current height is the platform. There is 40-75' feet more to go. This is going to be stunning once they have it all working. And that crap rumor that they had cut stuff a year back.

Yeah, the giant thing in the front is the Cabana Bay Tower. And oh my god, they stole the Jimmy Fallon tent!

Yeah, that whole thing is one of the new towers, the wavy metal looks like some kind of electrical conduit to me, and the tent looks like a break area with a water cooler.

I still really want them to build those mountains in the background. I just love how they have completely manufactured a landscape, no I-4, no Turkey Lake, no strip malls, not even a hint of Orlando's true skyline.

Common concept art trick..The ones with Diagon alley and Hogsmede ones were super funny because the replaced the backstage areas with pine trees and ravines..

Maybe the concept artist thought this was supposed to open in USH

According to some well done Photo Art, it doesn't appear that at least the top portion of that structure will not be covered. If that helps.

Am I missing something or has that picture not worked as it should have in your post? It is tiny, cant really make out much in it either.

I'm quite confident on what I can currently see in comparison with the concept video. I presume they didn't show a view from the open side in the concept because it would give away what is inside the volcano. looking at the recent photos I think I have already matched up the current openings with what can be seen in the concept but on a laptop working away so no time to edit an image marking up the corresponding openings for anyone interested. If I get time tomorrow a may have a play.
