I imagine, or am hoping for, something akin to what AK is doing for the tree of life..3 or 4 shiws periodically that take place every 30mins..I still want a huge nighttime show on the lagoon that unites the park

I dont think Universal is open late enough for 3 or 4 shows, might be wrong but it seems like they usually close a lot earlier than other parks.

Don't mean to derail the topic but have you read the previous book you mentioned as well? Both of them sound interesting and I might buy one, but want to know if I should get the most current one or the previous one.

They're both excellent. I would recommend buying both. There's a wealth of Universal information. But the second book would be more authoritative, since it was basically dictated by Jay Stein, who was the executive who ran the Hollywood park for most of it's years, founder of Universal Orlando, and the main executive behind the scenes & events.

I'll second this. Both are well worth reading and contain TONS of material I'd never heard about before. The big distinction between the two is that the first contains lots of stories about Jay Stein, while the second contains stories from Jay Stein. I think both are worth having in the library for the ways they coincide and contradict.

I'm hoping there's something cool on the horizon to make up for this.

I would also think that the white stuff leaching out of the rockwork would have to be addressed before they project something onto it, if that's the plan.

The lack of foliage to the left really makes Hogwarts look smaller and less secluded than it once did. Not a fan of this landscaping decision at all.

I think it's more of an operational decision...At this point they should just remove the other JP entrance gate..

That's not white stuff leaching out.. that's bird poop.

And i think part of the reason was to..

A) Make Jurassic Park visible to the large number of guests who think Hogwarts is a dead end on that side of the park.

B) Make those who try to take photos of it happy - as they often do so from the bridge. Operationally the courtyard and queue is discouraged because - as mentioned with the bird statue - it stops the line.

I mean it's totally feasible to re-do it so that both can coexist with one another..but I don't believe it is on their radar at the moment

I'm sure that's how Universal would justify it, but as somebody who takes a lot of pictures, and who has taken many from that bridge, I think it's a far better photo op with the trees and greenery intact. It makes it look like you've just stumbled upon Hogwarts out in the wilderness. And the presence of the trees certainly wasn't stopping the masses from getting pictures there, either.

I don't believe anything Jurassic Park-related is on their radar, either, except perhaps the ways in which the land can be further cannibalized on either side!

(Yes, I know that's a harsh characterization.)

I can't imagine them thinking that bridge is a good spot to put the audience. They know it's a pinch point.

Just do what Disney does. Put a bunch of tape on the ground and hope for the best.

I'm very surprised the entrance to and from JP hasn't been reconfigured yet...Maybe if/when DD finally closes there will be a major hub created for a show such as this..

At a certain point anything in view of the castle becomes a pinch point.
