I'd love to see Hellraiser.. but sadly the IP is owned by Dimension Films, who of course, gave both HHNs lot of headaches over Scream.. so I'm not sure if we'll ever see Hellraiser anytime soon..

I would've loved to have seen Pinhead amongst the other Titans of Terror. A house based on the first two films would've been incredible and totally qualify for the criteria when choosing potential IPs. If only the reboot/rights would have been bought by New Line.

To say if I did believe @HHNManiacs, The Thing, would be the easy way out for Murdy; as it is a core Universal horror IP. IT, could be the way that Warner would give back after having the Conjuring taken away more than once, and that Alien is from Fox; which has had experience from Murdy's past endeavors with them, including the likes of AvP.

If I was to boil it down, the only one outside of The Thing that would have a legitimate chance of being the replacement, is IT; as Murdy will have a better chance of communication with the director and the company of WB, as he is right next door to the Warner Lot and offices.

The question, would King allow it; as he seems to have a larger footprint for the creative process of the remake, and that he may not be rather fond of another of his IP's not being exactly his version.

Just food for thought, but I may be wrong about it.

Apparently he actually was pretty upset by all the talk about wanting him to retire

Can you blame him? No matter how you feel, things can be more delicately put. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if he followed various forums to know what was being leaked and speculated on.

I think it's good to know that we honestly have no idea how much goes on behind closed doors. As a person who has put on numerous shows myself, it is never easy as it seems, and a lot of work goes on behind the scenes--not all of it within your control. So many factors to think about, it's quite a balancing act to make everything work out sometimes.

So @HHNManics and I were discussing The Conjuring's replacement and we came to an agreement out of the blue

Alien

The unofficial code word for this maze was "Uber Fan", which David is of Richard, who keeps playing music in the film.

Aside from that, I'm sure Murdy could recycle old Alien costumes/ props and have unused props in the maze without the use of the Queen which he destroyed.

Waterworld queue is also large enough to host it. The rumor I heard was that the maze would be one that was "out of the blue" and "pleasantly surprise" both the general public and fans alike...

Again, just speculation, but thoughts?

I was literally about to write a post thinking that it could be Alien. I agree that it gives them the opportunity to reuse props and costumes, as well as several effects, from AVP, especially since it's a replacement. I just hope it doesn't have the barren feel that AVP suffered from both years.

A question I'd have, is if they'd reuse assets from AvP like the full body suits and the Queen? Or would this be simply tied down to the new films.

I would like to think so yes. Possibly based on Alien Covenant only. Or a Combination of both Prometheus and Alien Covenant.

Given the claustrophobic atmosphere of last year's TCM maze, because of the physical location, I should hope that if it is Alien Covenant, that claustrophobic vibe could really add to the suspense and uncomfortable feeling to guests, especially with a closer scare with the xenomorphs. AvP felt like the xenomorphs and Predators were limited with their scares. Ironically, the immersive sets and atmosphere of AvP, which did help guests feel like they were actually in the woods also worked against the effect, making the danger feel sort of distant, literally.

I mean in the materials used for the Xenomorphs. And that who's to say it can't be an original story, using elements from all the films in the core Alien Franchise? There is a lot to go with it, and that it'd be simple for Murdy to reuse molds while having new ones at standby.

I must ask to Chris and Justyn. Are you taking into account, the tidbit that Hollywood is exclusively working with the group of FoxNext? As in the AHS PR for YRN, it tells of them.

If you are, that may be the reason that he chose Alien over The Thing, out of a few distinct reasons.

Few Things happened today...

So that means Insidious or the Other Property will not be announced next. So either Ash Vs Evil Dead, Blumhouse, or Jigsaw. My best Guess is probably Blumhouse. As Evil Dead can be announced at Comic Con, Insidious at Midsummer, Other Property at Scarela, and Jigsaw last along with Tickets, Scare Zones, and Terror Tram.

Tickets will probably be available in August.

And I know the facade has something to do with being a twist on the Property and Horror in general. In which now I have no idea.

I would think that if it's Alien, it won't be a simple black wall with the title; but I do wonder what he could do with an IP like that for a facade, while going low on the size and scope due to location.

We won't know until construction stars in Waterworld queue anyway tomorrow because we can't see what the Faced looks like anyway

I'm really happy about the rumors I'm hearing about Conjuring's replacement. The Thing would've been perfect for the 35th anniversary, but I will gladly take Alien. That's not a bad replacement either. I can see them doing an "original" story set in a Weiland Corp base; it would essentially be Orlando's AVP but with out the Predator.

If that rumor is true, it will be funny to see that we got all up in arms over nothing about TCM. Alien would be a very fine replacement. I just hope Murdy won't be Murdy and have a ton of black walls.

Oh come on, you know he will. It is, after all; a Horror NIghts Hollywood staple! ;)

Either one would be great, as I would love to see them return, as I do love AvP in the scale of everything being better shown than before, seeing the Xenomorphs back would be nice to have with a proper Alien house.

As for The Thing, even if I didn't go in there; the videos of everything about it is amazing and that to me, seeing it come back but being the original film would be amazing to see, as The Thing seems to be one of the best houses that Murdy and co have done.
