Volcano Bay: General Discussion

Not a water park person but I wanted to check out VB just for the food and lazy river. I think they'll at least bring the tacos back but fixed.

Kind off topic but what's Universal's policy about ticket expiration? I looked on their site and it's a little confusing. They usually run bogo deals. Can I used the first two days then come back later to use the other two? I know Disney changed theirs to 14 days.

I know for most of the special tickets you get 1 year to 'activate' them with your first entry to the park. Then all days need to be used within in one week after that first entry.

I don't know if it's still this way but my aunt bought a 1 day 2 park ticket at the gate like 6 years ago that didn't have an expiration date; I just had a friend use it last summer with no issues

Tacos are back! Maybe. Looking for double confirmation.

I'm not sure I'd get your hopes up. That looks like a screenshot from bioreconstruct's stop motion animation of the restaurant. I think those pictures were taken days apart since the park opened (he always posts pics of where the eyes are facing). I'm thinking the screengrab was from an old pic?

I would say it's new because it still has the recent additions of the loaded nachos and footlongs. Am I correct in remembering those items were never offered until the recent menu change?

Also, I've been looking at the trip-advisor reviews, and it looks like universal is trying to fix the problem in some way. A lot of the negative reviews have a response from universal guest relations below it, asking for the reviewer to call them to give them feedback on how to make it better.

Also (again, yes I know), what could they add in the expansion (other than the water coaster) to help decrease wait times? What would you want added?

Edit: At what point does universal consider getting rid of the Tapu-Tapu?

OrlandDave is such geeky goofball... he constantly comments on the trivial and mundane... like his aperture. Add to that, he tries to re-correct his correction of poorly stated statements. I just wanna shake him! :what:
He's socially awkward for sure. But his updates are better than anyone else's, even timtracker (who is 2nd best). But Dave shouldn't try to be Tim (10:45) and sing random made upsongs, it doesn't fit him and it seems forced.
I do crack up at this Dave guy always hating kids screaming and laughing and comments on them everytime... yet he's a TM :D

ETA: he's certainly thorough in pointing out the new items. Love it. The rocks in the fountain are a big difference- I wonder if they'll end up putting Koi in, it would add a lot of ambiance. That said, it's gonna look like crap once morons start throwing coins on those beautiful black stones :(
ETA 2: all the TripAdvisor complaints about "no seats", "nowhere to sit" and "no shade". 8:50 of that video speaks otherwise. What they mean is "no prime seats at the front of the Volcano" and "no shade for the beach that was specifically designed to not receive shade all day long".

Yay, an update! In the beginning when he takes use through that new seating area, did anyone see the giant garbage bins? What the heck....
You mean the conference space? If so- no one goes back there unless there's conferences- where they'd just move everything where it should go. Even the trash cans had bags and wipes on them for cleaning. It's basically back of house stuff that you can go to if you're really really curious.

I do have a question for those who have gone.

I know you have to leave your shoes for the slides- are there any that you can wear shoes on? Water shoes or crocs or something? The water coaster maybe?

My youngest is JUST at 42". Maybe even 41.5ish. We go next month. She can ride 42" rides here at six flags with just regular tennis shoes (no thick bottom or "napkins"). So a legitimate 42"- so will be able to do gringots, MiB, etc because she'll have shoes on. But she won't be 42" on shoeless water rides unless she grows half an inch in a month. Possible, but unlikely.
So with that said- if she can ride the water coaster with crocs on or something, that'd be great news.

Well that's good to know... I was like, why are there giant industrial bins and wipes and crap everywhere.

Mind you, if it's accessible then it should look better still.
