Whatever makes it happen in KidZone which means sooner (2020) is fine by me.

Then I would prepare to be disappointed, if SNW is indeed going away to the Fourth Gate to be more fleshed out.

It's been dead since the Nintendo thread took off though.

Your idea above could work. Just swap out Pets for Shrek. Assuming, that is, if the Pets to Shrek rumor is true.

Glad to see there is a proper thread for that, which I am surprised wasn't brought back when @Disneyhead mentioned of the phased closures.

Really have no idea what could have caused this switch though?

May of been from higher ups who looked at the slate of projects up for Universal, in a way that pushed Shrek and T23D to be possibly fasttracked for closure to accomodate practical attractions.

It just makes far more sense for USO to get SNW and new park to get the expansion.

Don't understand what needs to be fleshed out more.

Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi have all been said to be able to fit in KidZone. That's an outstanding phase 1 if you ask me.

Could be a number of things. I'm guessing it has more to do with the 4th park than anything. If they decided they wanted Peach's castle to be the centerpiece at the new place, they may have felt they shouldn't build one in USF as well. Maybe they are running into some problems on the R&D and feel they are better delaying the main ride. If thats the case, maybe they figure its better to wait.

Unless they think theres not enough space and want to do it bigger. Like I said above, if it's going to be the centerpiece of the new park....

I don't think Nintendo needs to be bigger though. These initial plans are great for a land and then other parks getting the rest.

Pokémon is huge as well. Use that in the third park.

Perhaps, but that I would argue that they may be pushing SNW to be relocated for two possibilities.

1.) Gate IV would've featured more digital based attractions compared to practical attractions.

2.) While they have IP's that could get people in, they don't have as big of a Potter IP. While I won't disrespect the notoriety of Jurassic Park and Fantastic Beasts, one just got a new film since 2001, and the second is dealing with not only new territory; but that it somewhat alienated audiences.

Just guesses on my part, but that they may be wanting to ensure the fourth gate is an automatic hit; and having Nintendo's first wave hit Florida at the fourth gate would bring people there more than it just being an expansion.

Could anyone with any hard info relating to Nintendo not going to KidZone please post it here?

Where/who are you hearing it from?

Are there any reasons given?

Are we just guessing that means Nintendo is being saved for a new park?

There's A LOT of discussion the last couple days pertaining to this sudden switch, but not much being said from the sources of the rumor itself.

I would say this: Keep in mind where the info is coming from. Let's not derail the thread because of a suddenly new rumor, (especially one from a completely new poster, in a different thread no less.) We have some long respected members of this forum who's word should probably be more trusted than others.

Just my two cents. Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater and immediately give up 300+ pages of Nintendo discussion and change direction on a dime because of this.

Certainly anything can happen in this Orlando theme park climate... BUT, I seriously doubt Universal is prepared to sit on their hands with Nintendo for a few additional years while they prepare an entirely new park when there's so many opportunities to include it in their existing ones right now.

Comcast in Orlando has not been one to hold back, hold off, or wait. So the idea literally seems absurd to me. But hey, that's just me.

I still don't think there's any reason to believe Nintendo's location has changed

But all of SNW are practical attractions.

And to be honest, I hope I am wrong. Sincerely; I do, but that considering @Disneyhead originally mentioned of Kidzone starting phased closures at Labor Day, but nothing happening; it leads to some concern.

Which is why I put in there, that they may of tried to have SNW be at Gate IV to balance some of the screen based attractions.

__

Still, I hope I am wrong; and that I am probably going to be wrong. But as it stands right now, I am not exactly trusting anything until anyone gives something concrete.

No inside info here, but from an outside perspective I could only see Uni saving the Mushroom Kingdom for the 4th gate if Zelda and Pokémon were suddenly off the table. Pokémon in particular is more than enough to carry the 4th gate for Nintendo representation.

I really don't see the new park being a lot of screen attractions when everyone says they want to move away. Don't see them then going and making a new park with 60% plus of digital attractions.

Labor Day was never on the table for KidZone. After HHN

I'm still sticking by my initial gut feeling with all this:

Wires are getting crossed about a possible Phase 2 in Park 3 that people are assuming is SNW proper

End of September was always what I've heard from Team Members for first KidZone closures.

EDITE: Keeping in mind, often times Team Members are the last to know actual info, of course.
