Never change universal.

No. The Battle of the Seven Potters is the beginning of Deadly Hallows, when everyone drinks the polyjuice potion (and there are seven Harry Potters).

I was told it took place for that because of some thematic stuff.

EDIT - The timeline is important though, because it also explains why there are seven motorbikes with sidecars...

That’s exactly my thought too.

Oh man I totally misread your post. Thought you meant that the creatures escaped after the Seven Potters idea. Apparently I can't read today.

There was only one motorbike in that sequence tho.

The only problem with that timeline is that Fluffy was supposedly sent away soon after being set free in the forest, near the beginning of the series. Of course, while that line appears in the books, it was never shown in the films, which the rides are more based on.

From Harry Potter Wikia:

After Fluffy's duties were done, and the Stone was destroyed, Hagrid set Fluffy free temporarily in the Forbidden Forest. Shortly thereafter, he was sent back to his native Greece by Dumbledore.

Definitely more ruins than Hogwarts castle proper.

Correct me if I'm wrong... but are there actually ruins outside of Hogwarts? I don't think I've heard of any.

If it's set post-Battle of Hogwarts, it's probably just battle damage. If not, it's probably just something made for the ride.

The farther you go out the older the castle is... and also, to Muggles the whole castle looks like old ruins... but no, there's no castle ruins in the stories... Except directly after the final battle of course.

strange they would pull the story. Is it possible it's fake? I think the castle ruins look too realistic to be fake.

Maybe the concept art they used wasn't the "finished" piece? It was a little rough around the edges.

Bummed we won't know more until 2019!!

I thought we settled on Philosophers/sorcerers stone. Although the cornish Pixies were Chamber of Secrets...

So maybe it is the "muggle" thought, but that seems like reaching.

I don't know... it just seems odd they picked something not mentioned when they had other aspects such as the boathouse?

Hopefully it's a good explanation come Jan/Feb. Regardless- it looks badass even if it makes no sense. Hah

There's 0 chance a fake got posted on the official Potter website.

Should be expected. They never give final details until 6 or so months before opening.

We'll be seeing a lot of things that were present in the first book/movie, but it is not set in that time.

If it takes place after the battle, I want smoldering rubble with smoke rising and the smell of burning embers in the air.

A Battle of Hogwarts ride seems a bit ... somber lol. I'd be surprised if that's when Uni was setting this.

OK- that makes sense now. We go through a flume and end up in Greece. At least there are ruins there, unlike Hogwarts. ;)

Not gonna lie, that was one of the first rumors anyone ever told me... And I didn't believe them. Still not really sure of it, seeing as how they have done such a good job keeping the time periods accurate between the Hogmseade land and Forbidden Journey, and Diagon Alley and Escape from Gringotts... But, I guess it's always possible they could start mixing time periods.

Apologies, should have clarified.

I still think right after is too soon  Rounding up creatures in the rubble of a war feels less than light-hearted lol.

If a significant amount of time had passed between the battle and the ride, I could possibly be on board. But then why would we be there? And, timeline-wise, I'm sure it didn't take the wizarding community long to magic the stones back together, so would there be rubble?

Obviously, not looking for answers. Uni could find a narrative that works. Just things crossing my mind based upon some of these new theories.

To be clear, I've never "heard" about this taking place after BoH, just spit balling along with the speculation.

I don't think it would be right after, if this is the case.

To your other points, I would say "It's just a theme park, I should really just relax"
